When the world goes to hell, Sound and Fury are likely to be the ones throwing the party. This fearsome foursome from the Great White North are on the upswing, thanks in part to their endless DIY tour tactics and insane, audience-participation-required live show. Taking advice from their favorite kings of debauchery and those who lived their rock n' roll dreams to all their excess, Sound and Fury have no shame in kicking plenty of asses and taking plenty more names along the way.

First off, why don't you tell us your name(s) and what you do in Sound and Fury.
Luke, lead singer.

Now for a generic background question: can you tell us a little bit about the formation of the band?
We come from the underworld to give the ass of Bitch Fortune a good hard fucking!

With a name like Sound and Fury, you practically describe your entire sound and passion in merely two words. Is there anything the band stands for in terms of the sound/style you present, besides kick-ass rock-n-roll?
We're all about the party! Our music is a down and dirty, rock and roll rampage to party your ass off to.

Okay, for someone who has never heard of you, what kind of a mission statement would you use to persuade a listener to give you guys a shot?
If you can't handle the party, stay the fuck out of our way. Our mission is to smash everything that is lame and violate the world.

Tell us a little about the writing process for the self-titled album. What motivates your writing style, lyrical content, things like that?
I write about my experiences in high school and various adventures. I try to create a killer soundtrack to future rampages.

Tell us about the video shoot for your single, "18". The clip looks phenomenal for a small budget band.
Yeah, they did a killer job! We shot it in an abandoned police station and got totally wasted, it was awesome!

This summer you'll be heading out on tour with Less Than Jake and Goldfinger, two established and highly-respected American punk bands. I'm sure you guys are both excited and a bit nervous about opening for them. Do you have any big ideas planned to introduce yourselves to U.S. audiences not familiar to you? How do you plan on bringing down the house in larger venues?
We've played bigger venues and we do the same thing we always do: just leave our blood and guts on the stage, we're all about the live shows. It's all about involving the fans; the band and the fans creating an experience together.

[B]Your songs provide a great amount of energy and high-octane enthusiasm, even some dark humor. How does this translate into your live show?
It translates into a rampage in the audience. Lots of F.U.N.

Growing up in Canada, what bands influenced you the most? Was it a disadvantage at all living in Canada for live shows?
The classic ass-kickers: Sex Pistols, AC/DC, The Ramones, Black Sabbath, The Misfits etc.

Tell us about your favorite concert you've ever been to and how it transpired into your work ethic with the band.
I've been to many, many shows and the best was AC/DC. It showed me how the masters do it.

Take us through an average day in terms of promoting your band. What kind of unique tactics do you guys offer to grab listeners' attention?
The best promotion is touring and that is our focus.

Give us some of your best road warrior stories.
(laughs) There's no fucking way you'd be able to print them! (laughs again) Totally over the top; lots of fun!

What is the absolute worst part of being on the road for you guys? How are you guys planning on dealing with the recent gas price surge? Do you enjoy touring Canada, the States or does it even matter?
We love being on the road...anywhere. Hopefully, we'll sell some albums and our fans will support us so we can keep doing this!

What kind of goals has the band set for itself and how do you ensure you all meet those goals?
To keep touring, and to support that by touring.

Okay, so what does the future have in store for Sound and Fury? Lots of touring and wreaking havoc? Any big upcoming plans we should be anticipating?
Tours with Less Than Jake/Goldfinger in the States in July, Airbourne in Canada in August and Airbourne in the UK in November.

Any bands you would like to recommend to readers?
Airbourne, Less Than Jake and Goldfinger.

Is there anything else you would like to tell the readers at AbsolutePunk.net?
If you're looking for a party...you found one!

I wonder if they have the words "rampage," "party," and "f***" in their lyrics.

These questions seemed a bit too high-brow to have such laconic and one-dimensional answers lol. Funny that their name is a Macbeth reference but their aesthetic is like, decidedly mook-rock.

The facts that they like to get down and dirty, party, and fuck around don't tell me much about their music at all. Not even sure if I actually want to check them out now.
