understandable. you're from the UK so i'm sure the darkness was shoved down your throat.

I always had, and still do have, a really hard time taking the Darkness seriously. I'd be able to listen to them if it weren't for those cringe-inducing high notes and crotch-displaying jumpsuits. And the other various things about them that I found gimmicky.

Maybe it was the fact that they were a gimmick band?

Truth.

gimmicky, but shamefully enjoyable.

I guess that's fair enough. If you like them it's all good, I'm not gonna stop someone from listening to what they like but they were always just too much for me with the flamboyancy and the vocals.

I liked them a lot when they first came around and all, just because they were better than a lot of stuff on the charts but now I like them but as far as I am concerned they grew old too quick and from what I have heard so far Stone Gods who have the rest of The Darkness and a new singer are better.
Maybe it was the fact that they were a gimmick band?
It says somewhere on Wikipedia that they hated being thought of as a gimmick band. How did they think they could be much else?! I do own the album though haha.
