Feeling sorrow
For all the things you had to steal and borrow

I'm bringing this thread back up instead of making a new one...

Lyrics just barely from Sum 41 - Dave's Possessed Hair made me both cringe and vomit internally:

What I do is what I choose which makes it my decision
If your life was a book your story would be fiction

Wait! So you're telling me that I choose what I do and I do what I choose and THEREFORE, it's MY decision? Thank you so much for that nugget of wisdom...

So sick of the hobos always begging for change
I don't like how I gotta work and
And they just sit around and get paid
I hate all of the people who can't drive their cars.
Bitch you better get outta the way
Before I start falling apart

I hate how my wife is always up my ass
She always wants to buy brand new things
But I don't have the cash.

I hate my job, all of my rich friends
I hate everyone to the bitter end.
Nothing turns out right, there's no end in sight
I hate my life!

How come I never get laid, nice guys always lose.
How could she have another headache
There's always some kind of excuse
I still hate my job, my boss is a dick
"I don't get paid nearly enough
To put up with all of his shit"

I hate my job, all of my rich friends
I hate everyone to the bitter end.
Nothing turns out right, there's no end in sight
I hate my life!
Yeah!

I hate that I can't tell when a girl's underage,
You know, I tell her she's a nice piece of ass,
Then her daddy punches me in the face

So if you're pissed like me
Bitches, here's what you gotta do
Put your middle fingers up in the air
Go on and say "Fuck you!"

I hate my job, all of my rich friends
I hate everyone to the bitter end.
Nothing turns out right There's no end in sight
I hate my life!

So much at stake, can't catch a break
I hate my life
No, it's nothing new hear " it sucks to be you"
I fuckin hate my life

I would hate my life too if my band's most famous song was this horrible.

Katie Melua 'If You Were a Sailboat'

This song is probably the worst ever written. Some of the main lowlights include,

If you're a cowboy I would trail you,
If you're a piece of wood I'd nail you to the floor.
If you're a sailboat I would sail you to the shore.
If you're a river I would swim you,
If you're a house I would live in you all my days.
If you're a preacher I'd begin to change my ways.

If I was hungry you would feed me
If I was in darkness you would lead me to the light
If I was a book I know you'd read me every night

Just so beyond stupid!

I like that part of We Laughed Indoors, not more so than other parts of the song but it doesn't bother me.

There are certain parts from On Letting Go lyrically that really bug me, not because they're terrible, but because they give me this sense of pseudo-intellect that's like talking to a stoned kid at a party who thinks he's deep. Which is a shame cause I think Circa Survive are smart and can do better than "Did you ever wish you were somebody else?"

I love Circa Survive, but that's exactly what I think of when I think of Anthony Green hahaha.

And while I like to think of myself as AP's resident Brand New fan, the song "Magazines" has some atrocious lines:
Broken down in my dead bedroom / stuttering to pictures of you / I know that you can always see me / I saw you staring through my TV last night
or
Laetitia, you got my hand shaking / I'm begging you, oh baby please stop breaking / my heart because I got the feeling / you and I will never really get it on

And I know I'll get murdered for this, but Say Anything has some pretty bad lyrics as well. I know that they have "deeper meanings", but songs like "Yellow Cat (Slash) Red Cat" have some pretty ridiculous lyrics. Definitely not the worst lyrics, but they're pretty bad.

Home for the weekend,
Looking for a good time;
Of all the numbers you end up calling mine.
Ready or not , I think I’ll give this a shot.
I should know better than to
Give her what she wants.
I picked her up and she was three-forths gone.
She passed out before we even got to talk.
All I want to know is:

Where were you when I needed you most?
Why did you leave me alone?
We gave up before we gave it a chance,
And I don’t understand.

Back to where we left off, baby.
“How you been and what’s been new with you lately?”
Just forget it, it’s the same old runaround.
You build me up just to let me down.

Down.

Where were you when I needed you most?
Why did you leave me alone?
We gave up before we gave it a chance,
And I don’t understand.

Just forget it, it’s the same old runaround.
Just forget it, just forget it.
Just forget it, it’s the same old runaround.
Just forget it, just forget it.

Where were you when I needed you most?
Why did you leave me alone?
We gave up before we gave it a chance,
And I don’t understand.
