Conor Oberst is a perfect example of why lyrics are so important because obviously people don't buy his music for his voice.

I havent heard Broken Spindles (is that the side project of one of the guys in The Faint?) But I have heard Son Ambulance and Mayday. I have also seen almost every band on Saddle Creek at one point or another, and the times Ive seen Bright Eyes, Conor hasnt cared at all. Son and Mayday both put on really really good shows. Conor gets on stage and even though hes in his hometown, where people worship him, he gives the most lackluster, boring performance I have ever seen. Then he blames it on being sick, when in reality, hes just too fucking drunk. Then when one string breaks on his guitar, hell walk off, even though hes only played half of his set.

ALSO: heres another reason that I dont like Conor. The one time that I have seen him, when not at a show, he was at a party, sitting in the corner by himself, doing a line of coke off of his own album cover.

He said something pertaining to Bush and Schwarzenager(sp?) pertaining to their "creepy fascist ideals" I don't know. It just bothered me.

Edit: Not to say that the song wasn't bad or anything. I rather enjoyed it. I just don't like someone speaking something before hand when they're already going to sing it in the song.
