now im sorry if there was a post about this all ready, but the bands recent reactions and comments regarding their minor stint on the warped tour is embarassing.

To recap those who arent aware....according to numerous news stories, and posts, the band Be Your Own Pet were originally very un-happy to be on the Warped Tour this year, because they thought kids who wore Bad Religion shirts arent punk...and warped tour isnt punk...

"I just associate it with a certain look and a certain style and the kind of kids at school that I thought were-- this is really bad, I'm sure-- the kind of kids that were dumbasses wearing Rancid t-shirts who thought they knew what punk rock was and threw things at people in the cafeteria. So it's like, okay, now we're going to be performing for these people."

So im not sure if they're trying to say that they're too punk for this, but I have a few problems with this in general.

a) Have you ever read the lyrics from Be Your Own Pet? They're fucking kids.... they sing about high school stories, and partying. Give me a break, if they're trying to go for a punk image.

b) Making fun of the Warped tour because its "Fake punk" is such an irrelevant argument to make now and days, since everyone knows that the warped tour is flooded with scene bands now.

c) They claimed that their record company forced them to tour on the warped tour. I looked up Be Your Own Pet's minor record label...and you cant possibly tell me that an indie label like that, has such a grapple hold on this band, that the band has no say when/where they tour. This leads me to believe that this whole thing is just a ploy. If you wanted to really show your record company what you think abuot being on the warped otur....how about you go on stage everyday, and suck. Play intentionally bad.

d) If you hate the message, or the kids, or the theme of the warped tour...how about go on stage and say that. Make it clear that kids are misguided and dumb.

e) Again aloooding (awful spelling) to the point that this band are a bunch of kids.... so they dont wanna play music for the kids who picked on them in gym class? How fucking pompoous.

......I was staring to get into the sound of this band, but looking at the lyrics of their songs and this recent attitude is quite embarassing.
