View Full Version : any good tab sites for indie/alternative songs?

I'm sitting here, searching the internet for a site that has a tab for "The Way It Should Be" by The Mile After, and I'm coming up with nothing. Anyone know any good websites for music like this?

I have a possibly disheartening but honest answer for you: listen to the song over and over with your guitar in your hands and teach yourself to play what you're hearing. If possible, go see the band live/check out youtube vids and look at the guitarists hands. My favorite band is mewithoutYou (what gave it away?) and there aren't many tabs for their stuff and any tab I've found has been incorrect, if not terrible. So I strapped on the old headphones, plugged in my geetar and figured out some of their songs (Wolf Am I!, January 1979, Paper Hanger, Son of a Widow, A Glass...) It's the narrow path, but it's what people did before tabs, and it's an invaluable skill to train your ear and your mind in this way. Not only will you learn the song, but you'll become a better all-around player in the process. Do work son! Good luck.

It has nearly every tab you'd be looking for, including indie tabs so it is a help, just type in the tab you want.

i already go there for everything. but lets say i wanted to play a song by You, Me and Everyone We Know, or by The Mile After, they dont have anything.

ultimate-guitar now has a feature where you can request a tab. It sounds like i work for them or something.

Tell all tour friends! Sometimes you can find people on youtube who will break down songs in to tabs for you.

I know but it doesn't have the song that he started the thread about...
