how is this related to punk, punk rock or rock in general? I'm so confused. Neat video, but come on..

it is in no way related, but kanye west is the man so he should be allowed to be on whatever music webpage he wants.

thanks for proving my point, in now way is dilated peoples or kanye west related to rock. I don't dislike him, but in general I feel like rap is the lowest form of music known to man (just my opinion, I'm not trying to preach it.) While I may not buy albums from artists like Tupac and Notorious B.I.G., I respect their place in music history and laugh at all the people who believe they're all living on an island somewhere waiting for a comeback.

ok, i hate to have to defend music, but it has to be done.
dilated peoples, while some individuals may enjoy them, some may not, they're relevant to this site. this site is a MUSIC site for people of all styles of music to enjoy. even though it has the word punk in it's name, hiphop is still relevant because the ethics of hiphop are more similar to punk than most. AND plenty of "punk" fans listen to hiphop, like myself and many friends. Atmosphere, Sage Francis, Eyedea & Abilities are all on Epitaph, one of the biggest and baddest PUNK labels, does that mean that Epitaph isn't punk because they have hiphop? I think Epitaph along with this site has the right idea, branching out to get a bigger audience, and to help struggling artists of all genres gain new fans, and to help music fans find something new.

i'm rather sick of hearing people complain on this site about not wanting to hear about hiphop music. if you don't want to hear about it, then skip over the post. it's not going to kill you. there ARE people who appreciate ALL music, and those are the people i'm going for, i guess.

and as for hiphop being the lowest form of music, i disagree 100%. it's fuckin hard to be good at it. for any haters, just try it. go get yourself an 808 or something and make yourself a beat and write an intelligent rap...it's just as hard to write a hiphop song as it is to write a rock song...rock just gets more respect for some reason.

i'm ranting on now, i appologize. and for the record, i'm not really all about dilated peoples, but i love kanye west and i saw that dilated peoples were mentioned on here awhile ago by someone else, so i figure maybe people are interested...sorry if you're not....oiii

I'm a punk and emo fan first, but i'm also a big fan if hip-hop. Kanye and Talib are some of those most talented guys in that scene right now, and if your not gonna listen to it just because its not "punk" then your missing out. Yeah, this is a punk music site but i see no problem in posting stuff about another kind of music. Its pretty sad that people only listen to one kind of music and disregard everything else. I dare you to check out the roots, kanye west, or talib kweli and say thats not good music.

absolutepunk.net is a music site even though it has punk roots you should all be open minded to new music. Joel does all the indie-hop for this site. Check it out. Dilated is dope and i dont care if you dont like it cuz its too great

Yes, everyone should be open to all music, I never said I wasn't, but we don't have to like all music either and like I stated earlier, it was just my opinion. But judging from other posts I'd say I'm not alone in wondering what the hell this has to do with a site that has "punk" in its title. I'm not bashing Joel's music choices, if it weren't for him lending me the Zebrahead cd like two years back I may have never heard of them.

Maybe this site should be renamed "absolutemusic" if you guys are going to complain that every genre of music should be published here.. and with that said I'll get back to you in one week with my review on the nicaraguan drummers of Managua, since I know that's what you all really want to hear about.. since this is a site about music and such..

and before everyone gets all anal I like this site, and I will continue to visit, and I think that senses fail crack was pretty funny..

Don't forget the Benz, "ice" and Cristal.. lol. jk.

EDIT - I'm sorry, my rapper friend has informed me that it's referred to as "The Crissy", not Cristal. Silly me.

A general view of rap that unfortunately paints an inaccurate picture. There's just as much emotional packed into many underground hip-hop artists as there is in any other style of music this site promotes.

That's like someone who isn't familiar with "punk" music saying "aren't the ethics of punk just skateboarding, mohawks, chains and hating the government for no reason?"

Really get to know something beyond it's surface level and popular acts before you judge.

A sense of humor, please - realize we're kidding. I hope you're not implying that all punk-rockers are against the government. If I've learned anything it's that punk-rock music has taught teenagers to form their own political view. The political views in music feeds the fire of thought for these kids.

Kanye can do no wrong in my opinion. His CD is awesome and I love all the beats he makes, I hate Twista but whenever his one song "Celebrity Overnight' comes on I have to listen just for that violin part. Dilated Peoples are great so it's like a dream for Kanye to do some work with them. I think it's awesome we can talk about good hip-hop on a Punk site.
