i can't find a job and i've applied at a ton of places in the last two weeks.. it's hard to get a job when you have to tell people you're only working the summer, and i can't get away with not telling them because they see i'm attending college in a different city on my application.

not the little league field but the new jersey cardinals, some single A ball team, and the ballpark they have is pretty big considering no one shows up to any of the games

You guys can put in as many apps as you want and you won't get called. You have to FOLLOW UP. If you just turn in a million apps then sit in your room and tell your parents "i don't get it. i'm trying so hard" - then you be lame.

No one will call or give you an interview unless you go in every few days, ask to see the manager and actually meet them face to face and tell them you've put in an app and you're checking on it. Otherwise they'll never look at you.

I was at Dillard's today applying for a summer job (of course I didn't tell them that) and like 7 people walked in and asked for an application in the 15 minutes it took me to fill out the application. They were all older like 30's and 40's too. The job market sucks, especially when you have 500 people applying for 7 jobs that pay $8 an hour.

The best thing you can do is put that you have completely open availability. You can always tell them about your Saturday night "charity work" after you get hired.
