yeah i'm hoping for tower records or wherehouse music...i wouldn't mind barnes & noble though.

i might end up as a bag boy though at a grocery store. my neighbor has "connections" and he said he can get me a job no problem, but it's sort of a last resort thing.

I've tried at every damn music store in the city practically and not one call back! Damnit! I know more about music than half those douche bags with Linkin Park shirts working there. Bastards!

Now I have to go for an interview at Staples tomorrow. Wtf..

i can't find a job and i've applied at a ton of places in the last two weeks.. it's hard to get a job when you have to tell people you're only working the summer, and i can't get away with not telling them because they see i'm attending college in a different city on my application.

so.. hello temp service. works everytime.

I can hook you up. I live about 4 hours away from Mexico.

But seriously... It is really hard to get your first job. My first job was lifting furniture. Good money. Bad back. I'm on my 4th job now and I'm not even 18.

You guys can put in as many apps as you want and you won't get called. You have to FOLLOW UP. If you just turn in a million apps then sit in your room and tell your parents "i don't get it. i'm trying so hard" - then you be lame.

No one will call or give you an interview unless you go in every few days, ask to see the manager and actually meet them face to face and tell them you've put in an app and you're checking on it. Otherwise they'll never look at you.

that's true you do want to call back. I was at Dillard's today applying for a summer job (of course I didn't tell them that) and like 7 people walked in and asked for an application in the 15 minutes it took me to fill out the application. They were all older like 30's and 40's too. The job market sucks, especially when you have 500 people applying for 7 jobs that pay $8 an hour.

The best thing you can do is put that you have completely open availability. You can always tell them about your Saturday night "charity work" after you get hired.

my ability to work absolutely any time because i have nothing else to do this summer is pretty much my only asset. hopefully they'll like me, haha.

i need an INTERNSHIP. and i;m having more trouble with that than with the job thing. people in my industry dont like people lol. honestly, i have to make more phone calls. bah.
