Awesome sequel, totally lives up to the first and they still kept the same subtle adult-oriented humor intact. This is the first movie I've seen on opening day in quite some time and it was definitly worth it. Only problem was too many dumbass parents dragging their infants to movies they're not even old enough to understand beyond the fact that they laugh when they see a big green ogre do silly things on-screen. I think this movie was almost as good as the first one and is a definitely a good anytime movie. I thought it was genius how many pop-culture references there was in it (Far Far Away being like a medieval Hollywood, the red carpet, the "Knights" show). My only complaints are it took a little while for the story to pick and Dragon was briefly mentioned but not seen at all.
Overall:
8.5/10
I enjoyed it. And I would say that it was as good as the first one.

Hysterical.
My favorite part is when the fleeing residents of Far Away ran from one Starbucks (or look alike) across the street to another Starbucks. SO FUNNY.

I'm curious, did you see it? I do agree most of Dreamworks other animation ideas are recycled ideas (Antz to Pixar's Bug's Life, and that upcoming Shark movie obviously to Finding Nemo) but they always end up being decent movies. I wouldn't call it shit.

maybe the original ideas are recycled, but i think the plots, jokes and the little things that make each movie special and great are different.
gee, i sound like a pixar spokesman.
