Kept seeing a bug/promo for this show on FX the other day while watching Hellboy. From what I saw, looks pretty good. Especially if it takes the biker-gang side as opposed to a law/legal aspect...

Think it has one of The Shield’s writer/producers, too, which isn't bad!

For some reason, I don't think this show is gonna stay. I like it and all, but it had a weak premiere rating, reviews were mixed, and for some reason people are ripping this show to shreds.

Kurt Sutter did say that ratings were "golden" for the target demo so hopefully it'll be back next year.

I think this brings Opie to the fore front as one of the main characters. They brought his character along kind of slow. Early on in the season he wasn't really much of a factor/didn't get much scene time. But obviously that has picked up and things have now changed. The storyline needed to change from he was out of the club (no point in really showing him) to he was half in/half out, to he got some well needed redemption on the dude that put him in jail, to needed to prove himself to get back into the club (fucking that all up) to ATF raiding him (basically a whole two episodes were practically about this and him/his family) up until right now. Where all the focus basically is on him, and what he will do, and the fans want to know.

It's the whole keep shitting on one character who is in between two things to the point where they take out his wife who was keeping him in doubt which means that now that she's gone, he's going to rain shit and be back because she's dead (the whole rage thing) and what not. I like how the whole SAMCO deal was apart of it as a mistake so if he is raining shit now that he's back in the club (killing and what not) there's still that knowledge of knowing who caused all of this. At least that's what I see.

HBO decided not to pick up their biker show "1%," that they had in production for over a year.

W. Earl Brown had this to say:

The new management seems to be afraid. The network went from being run by a balls-out, shoot-from-the-hip sort of guy (who I did not always agree with) to a knees-aquiver, nail-biting, "worried what the NY TIMES will say" sort of guy. The Death Rangers scared him.

That having been said, if 1% couldn't go, I am glad that at least SOA is telling the stories. It is a world that deserves to have its story told. There are 14 cop procedurals on the air right now. There was room for 2 Biker shows.

It's ashamed. Truly.

It was a good finale. The whole first season seems to have been about Jax finding himself, and next season will be him taking action, with some real shit will going down inside the club. A third season, should it last that long, would be the aftermath.

They made it sound like John Teller himself knew he was on his way out, from the way he was reflecting on things in his manuscript. He was hit by a semi and died two days later from the crash, so yeah, I'm sure Gemma and Clay played a part in his death, it will surface again at some point.

I definitely believe that Gemma and Clay had something to do with John's death. You could tell when Gemma was talking about John's book being filled with "all his pathetic hopes and dreams" and basically bashing him as an individual. Next season should be interesting. I hope that more is revealed about what really happened.

yea it's like the shield at times...mostly slow/boring but once a blue moon there is a scene that tries to push the cable tv boundries.

uhhh ... that random Mayan was the scapegoat to be the one who killed Opie's wife, he was set up/paid to do that, but I don't think he expected to get killed, and that one guy knew Opie was coming for blood so he shot his mouth just in case the dude cracked under life/death pressure, thus having no choice but to kill him then.

Opie said no matter what, he would wait until the guy confessed he did it so he could live without doubt.

I think it was just a spur of the moment decision. Didn't want the death pinned on them, so played it on the 9'ers...which backfired.

ya I jumped on the show the very first episode, but I was working alot at the time and don't remember it too well.

Its funny people bitched and moaned about the first few episodes being dry in the first season too, and then it picked up and everyone loved the show. I'm wondering if that's whats gonna happen with season 2. Don't know but I'll find out soon.

I was hoping that he'd be patched by the start of this season. I am curious to see who they are killing off in 2 weeks. Eonline said it wasn't someone in uniform, so Unser is out of the running, which I am happy about. I am really starting to like his character on the show.

Fucked up shit last night. I can't believe the Irish are working with Zobelle. I didn't even notice that was going on at first, then when I noticed who it was I was shocked. I really want Zobelle's daughter to get killed, she just irritates me. I can see Gemma having no problem taking care of that. Opie is starting to piss me off, too. The whole ass-kissing thing sucks.

As for the upcoming death, I'm really curious to see who it will be. If it's no one in uniform, that doesn't leave many people. But I'd have to go with Half-Sack, I don't think they'd kill any of their main actors, so he's the only one that really makes sense. Maybe even Luann...

Just finished the first 3 episodes of season 2....not wildly impressed, but I was expecting the worst and that's not really the case. I love the 'skinhead' characters, Rollins is perfect but under used as the muscle, and Adam Arkin really pulls off the role as the suit. This is probably my favorite part of the new season and excited to see where it goes.

holy shit...this season sure did pick up with episode 7. Going to prison injected a much needed bit of life into the series. I gotta agree that there for awhile the show seemed to drag, which is always a problem when a show focuses all its energy on a single storyline ('Ayran Brotherhood').

Biggest issue so far is that they seem to be burning alot of inner-club storyline in this season with the battle between Jax and Clay...this could come back to haunt them next season.
