I was thinking earlier about those certain albums that seem to project their own mood and create their own world where everything is congealed into a universal feeling. These aren't especially your favorite albums but, instead, albums that accomplish said task whether it be by reiterating phrases throughout an album's duration or by creating a unique sound.
So, what are everyone's most atmospheric albums?
10. Brand New - The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
9. Number One Fan - Compromises
8. The Dear Hunter - Act II: The Meaning Of, and All Things Regarding, Ms. Leading
7. Reed KD - The Ashes Bloom
6. Boys Night Out - Trainwreck
5. New Found Glory - Coming Home
4. Lydia - Illuminate
3. Jimmy Eat World - Futures
2. Jack's Mannequin - Everything in Transit
1. Trophy Scars - Alphabet. Alphabets.

i wish people wouldnt put "top" or "the best" in the thread title, but instead "your most favored" or soemthing like that. i havent heard near enough artists or albums to feel comfortable listing my favorites in a "top albums" thread.
i love thrice's water and air so much in this category. half the songs on TDAG appeal to me atmospherically as well, its more so the bare and raw songs on the record as opposed to the creepy and haunting ones, which is exactly why i prefer untitled to welcome to bangkok as the instrumentals go. and why i rank "handcuffs" over "luca" although luca is the better song technically.

The Dear Hunter's last CD created a completely different world within in it's 80 minutes. Such a beautiful album. Unfortunately, I've listened to it too much and am sick of it.
