jamaican rocksteady! i stumbled upon these guys trying to find alton ellis (http://absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=313254) albums a while ago, and am so glad i did. they recorded mr. skabeana with alton ellis in 1980. they are truly wonderful, another great band from kingston! any fans?

calling me a fan is putting it lightly haha, almost obsessed with these guys. greatest vocal trio ever? you could make a strong case for them, that's for sure. their albums on top, night food, party time are absolute essential albums for any ska fans, or music fans really. they also recorded many other great works, even in recent times. last years collection of rare & unreleased material sweet talking is marvelous!

i could have sworn you already made a thread for them, but maybe i was thinking of hepcat? anyway, night food is a definite must have for these guys. "mama say" is one of my favorite songs from them.

who knows, i might have haha. lost track of what i have & haven't yacked about

i love that tune. but they have sooo many classics, they really put the real romance of rhythm & soul into music. "book of rules", "suspicious minds", "equal rights", "country boy", "sweet talkin", the list just goes on

awesome! i know you're into some modern ska sounds, but didn't realize the early freedom sounds were your jam too mate. & night food really is a timeless gem
