The Ataris (http://www.theataris.com) are back in the studio recording the follow-up to 'So Long, Astoria.' They're doing the pre-tracking at NADA Studios.

Too bad that studio doesn't suck at all. We've been here for 8 days recording our new CD and its coming out awesome, and a lot of the stuff he has recorded has come out awesome as well. John is a great producer and engineer and the studio is a really nice place.
Too bad I'm not in The Ataris! FACED! SCRATCH MODED!

Too bad John Naclerio is the mother fucking man. Best producer in the Hudson Valley. Have you seen the frigging list of people he's recorded and produced? Auto Pilot Off, Midtown, Armor for Sleep, Matchbook Romance, A Second Chance, When Dreams Die, Shai Hulud, and a ton of others I can't remmeber off the top of my head.

well they are just demos kids. and anyways if he is so fucking good why doesn't anyone ever go back to him when it comes time to record again? Senses Fail, My Chemical Romance, Brand New and that is just to name a few. I mean it is an ok place to cut demos but a shitty place to record cause the guy is no poducer.

Personal vendetta, son? You don't know what you are talking about - alot of tracks coming out of Nada Recording have been released, on both indie and major labels. He is an extremely good producer, and I'm sure that any band that has ever recorded there can attest to that. Sure, alot of bands cut demos there, but it doesn't mean that's all he does. Can I ask what band's demos you are basing your critique of John's skills on?

bc they all recorded there before they were signed..THOSE CD'S THEY RECORDED WITH HIM GOT THEM SIGNED. and labels force to use a studio/producer of their choice once u get signed.

seriously it is nothing personal. I am going on what i think of the recordings and also what i hear from bands. Producers do a lot more than what people think they do. From what I have been told it seems he does not take as much time on certain things that maybe he should. Bands feel rushed. Once again this is not personal and I am not starting any drama at all.

old ataris music is always good to hear. new ataris music is so watered down and mediocre. i saw them a play with something corporate a few weeks ago, and i realized that "end is forever" is possibly the best cd ever. "so long, astoria" is possibly the most boring cd ever.

Yah definitly, End is Forever is problubly my favorite cd of all time. The only track I really don't like is the final acoustic one. So long, astoria is a pretty weak cd. I hate the new version of "Looking back on today."
