Did Kenny break up The Starting Line because he wanted to move on with PersonL?

Technically they didn't break up, they're on "indefinite hiatus"

No. TSL broke up because they were all just sick of being dragged down.
Kenny had Person L to fall back on, but it wasn't a cause.

I agree. Has anyone heard any news of the live dvd that they filmed here in Philly ? It was a great show!

They didn't fucking break up.
Why would he drop THE STARTING LINE for Person L? Seriously. They went on hiatus because they simply needed time to do other things.

Everyone in the band wanted to do other things, Kenny had Person L so that's what he's doing. Doesn't mean that it's his fault that they are on indefinite hiatus

People forget Person L was a side project for a while and Kenny was even done recording the album while he was with TSL. TSL was just sick of not getting any attention after they were promised "Island" would get the proper push and it didn't. It sucks how screwed they got with the record labels. Hopefully they come back

the sad thing is is that they were incredibly promotable and had somewhat of a mainstream sound. if they had a steady label for all of their albums, i think they would be huge.

there are honestly that many dumbasses here?
kenny did not break up the band. they didn't have the passion for tsl and like someone said in a person l thread that they saw kenny play to 25 kids with more passion than he did in front of 2500 at bamboozle. that shits saying alot.

No one in TSL broke them up like blink. SO don't compare

And TSL DO have singles. Did you watch the Absolute Access thing on them and how they were promised to go to top 40 with "Island" but didn't cause Virgin is a shitty label

thing is... if anything... to the "mainstream" audience, the starting line would have never gone anywhere. yeah island was an amazing song that would have done awesome on the radio and TV and what not but then what? what would have been the next song? i really cant think of one that i could sell to a large audience, yeah theyre an amazing band, but they only got as big as they got because the direction they went with. they knew before it came out that it was going to be an amazing album and that no one was going to like it. they say it over and over in the lyrics.

I feel that they could have been marketed to the mainstream audience. There's so many singles off that album like 21 and also "Something Left to Give" So they could have done perfectly fine.

The reason why I made this poll is because there is speculation that Kenny was getting tired of playing TSL music. If you even watch the "4 Part Video" he makes a comment about having to play and or write Starting Line songs again. Yes we all know how frustrating their situation has been and we cant possibly understand how painful it has been for them. However if you read between the lines and look at posts made by Matt about possibly playing again, it looks like he's not at all as happy to be on a break as it seems. Its not crazy to think that 4 of the 5 members are trying to stay on good terms with Kenny's decision and hoping he wants to play TSL music again. Remember if Mike or Matt quit they could easily replace one of them with someone else. However when the voice/singer of your band quits well thats a whole different story. We all know what Hit The Lights went through and luckily they were still early on in their careers. If TSL switched singers who would really listen? The irony is, Matt is the Manager of Hit The Lights, and maybe he better then anyone else knows what its like to lose a singer. Just maybe?
he grew tired of having to write a particular style of music and wanted to move on...he grew up, good for him. i say do whatever makes him happy hes the shit
