ok one of them has the lyircs that you used as a post title yesterday "they use love as an excuse for why they are fat and lazy" and the other one's chorus is "spit it from your mouth like a foreign object, sing it to the world like a drunken profit..."

my girlfriend talked to say anything at their concert in austin and they said that those two songs were only going to be on their demo. she didnt get the reason why, but they said you can only hear those tracks on that demo. they are awesome songs by the way.

Say anything is awesome. Like 4 years ago I heard their cover of the saves the day song "Jessie and my Wetstone"...and knew they would be big

To GAD:

The first one is my favorite SA song of all time, and no it's not on the album. It was my one let down, however, I do have the demo of it if you would like it. And the other is a song I have never heard, but will look for. I have Baseball, 13 demos for the new album (still working on figuring out the names) and ... Is a Real Boy, but I don't have that song, dammit. (hah)..

Sorry, trust me though, even minus "slumming it with johnny" - i still am in awe at the genius in this CD, i'll put more thought into a full review later.. basically, the song "Admit It" (lyrics below) are what solidified this CD as a frontrunner in my favorite artists collective.

Admit it
Despite your pseudo-bohemian appearance
That vaguely leftist doctrine of beliefs
You know nothing about art or sex
That you couldn’t read in any trendy New York underground fashion magazine
Prototypical non-conformist
You are a vacuous soldier of the thrift store Gestapo
You adhere to a set of standards and tastes
That appear to be determined by an unseen panel of hipster judges (bullshit)
Giving a thumbs up or thumbs down to incoming and outgoing trends and styles of music and art
Go analog baby, you’re so post-modern
You’re diving face forward into a antiquated path
It’s disgusting, its offensive don’t stick your nose up at me

Yeah, what do you have to say for yourself
Whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah

You spend your time sitting in circles with your friends
Pontificating to each other forever competing for that one moment of self aggrandizing glory
In which you hog the intellectual spotlight
Holding dominion over the entire shallow pointless conversation
Oh we’re not worthy when you walk by a group of quote unquote normal people
You chuckle to yourself patting yourself on the back as you scoff
With the same superiority complex
Shared by the high school jocks who made your life a living hell
And makes you a slave to the competitive capitalist dogma
You spend every moment of your waking life bitching about

Yeah, what do you have to say for yourself
Whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah
And I say yeah, what do you have to say for yourself
Whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah

Cause I’m proud of my life and the things that I have done
Proud of myself and the loner I’ve become
You’re free to whine, it will not get you far
I do just fine, my car and my guitar

Proud of my life and the things that I have done
Proud of myself and the loner I’ve become
You’re free to whine, it will not get you far
I do just fine, my car and my guitar, yeah

Well let me tell you this, I am shamelessly self-involved
I spend hours in front of the mirror, making my hair elegantly disheveled
I worry about how this album will sell
Because I believe that it will determine the amount of sex I will have in the future
I self medicate with drugs and alcohol between my extremes of what I think

You are a faker (admit it)
You are a fraud (admit it)
Yeah, you’re living a lie (yeah) living a lie (yeah) you’re life is living a lie
You don’t impress me (admit it)
You don’t intimidate me (admit it)
Why don’t you bow down, get on the ground, walk this fucking plank

Yeah, what do you have to say for yourself
Whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah
And I say yeah

I’m proud of my life and the things that I have done
Proud of myself and the loner I’ve become
You’re free to whine, it will not get you far
I do just fine, my car and my guitar, guitar go!

I'm drift drift drift drifting yeah
I'm drift drift drift drifting yeah oh

And I am done with this
I wanna taste the breeze of every great city
My car and my guitar
So you come to me, made of these, urgent unfulfilled
Oh no no no no no
I have when I'm dead I'll rest
But that's away still
When I'm dead I'll rest, I'll rest

you NEED to get the other song, "we will erase everyone on earth but us," becuase it is MY favorite song by them, and it's amazing. I listen to it like 10 times a day.

I have 17 demos of songs from say anything from 2 summers ago that max recorded in his room. It's post baseball, pre any demos he did with forrest, and defenitley pre demos for the new stuff. I got from a friend who grew up with max, and very few people actually have a copy of this. Anyway, the songs are incredible. I think the only one people have actually heard is walk thru hell. Max hates playing old songs so I'm sure these songs will never be heard by a large audience(I saw them tonight at chain, and he said But A Fleeting Illness was too old to play) , but they are just as good as the new songs, and a few are better. I wish there was a way to get these songs out more. I've been sold on this band, well really max bemis since i saw them at the troubador 3 years ago opening for SoCo. To anybody who has not seen this band live, you must go. Go to the absoutepunk tour and see Say Anything, i beg you. You will never see a more intense songwriter and performer as Max Bemis, he becomes his songs on stage, its really a surreal experience. Also, tate I'm so jealous that you have the album...

i want to know your plans was redone.

fucking amazing song, but yes its old.. i remember when max played it for the first time.. Mike Levin was still in the band, and we were standing there, and saying the song was awesome.. at least 1.5 years ago. around the time Get up kids' on a wire came out, because i remember giving max the advanced copy, and then he played this the week later.

i heard this record, and i too, the neutral fan, is excited. belt is fucking amazing live.

a lot of people have that demo disc. i have it. well, i have everything made by them since baseball. [ baseball is still top notch. ] its good but the drum machine kills me.. the most hilarious song is my bare hands though. seriously. broadway style say anything. and a certain kind of genius.

The demos you all have are probably all of the songs off of his 2 cds before baseball

1: Junior Varsity
2: Menorah/mejorah

no, sorry. i don't do that. an earlier version of the album [ probably the version jason tate has], the unmastered version, has already leaked and i dont want to add to that problem. i'm going to wait to buy it. and the band doesn't even like their older songs.. it just adds fuel to the fire of kids asking them to play 3 year old songs. like last great punk rock song. hilarious.

Uhm, okay. I don't really know why you had to look so far into that. I'm going to go out and buy their cd as well-really all i wanted to do was get some more songs-not even the new ones, just old ones that I don't already have. It's not like I'm trying to rob them of their deserved money or anything. It's just that you can't go to the store and buy it, otherwise I would have done so already instead of asking someone here. And I love how you can get all 80 of your songs from someone else but when someone asks you for them, you won't give them up. It's the same thing-you taking them from someone and me taking them from someone. Or is it just me?

My best friend helped them get started by putting their songs on kazaa and she knows them as well. The only difference is that if she still had the desire to talk to them and got more of their songs, she would have given them to people to give the band a greater fanbase and get them the exposure they deserve. You gotta love it when people think they're hot shit because they "know" a band. I know a bunch of people in bands, does that make me cool too?

its kinda funny, because they TOLD me not to give them out, otherwise i would trust me. i'm not an idiot. they're just fucking demos, get over it. don't be an asshole.
