Thats because NFG is marketed to alot of different types of people than just those who think they are emo or trendy or punk or whatever...the abercrombie crowd loves them as well.

Great band, they do deserve everything. I'm still pissed that they got treated like crap at that one concert. Stupid people

so did their last two albums. the question is whether they can get a second single to catch this time so they can hit that coveted platinum mark. considering how ridiculously fast they went gold, i'd say they finally might.

pretty sure its sold... labels dont count by how many they shipped because of a thing called "cutouts" aka CD's collecting dust in the back of a warehouse that a store can send back to a distribution company and recieve a full refund. eh anyways the RIAA measures by sold, not shipped.

too bad this CD sucks complete ass and it seems like they half-assed the entire thing. i wasn't very happy with it at all, but nevertheless, they're so popular that they could sell bags of shit and go platinum with them

RIAA goes by shipped not sold.

"RIAAź's certification levels are based on unit shipments (minus returns) from manufacturers to a wide range of accounts, including non-retail record clubs, mail order houses, specialty stores, units shipped for Internet fulfillment or direct marketing sales, such as TV-advertised albums."

Yeah, im still completely confused on this. I thought i had the handle that is was sold not shipped...

"They [The RIAA] also issue certifications awards on the sales of a particular album reach a certain level.... statistics are not measured by the amount released, but by sales..."

How is this possible, last week they topped out at #3 on billboard at 146,000 copies, i find it hard to believe in less than a week then rose 300,000+ copies, if they did well conratulations, but it just seemed that a growth that rapid was a little off...
