Yeah muse is amazing. I first heard them in March when I was over in England, I picked up Absolution and I still can't stop listening to it.
They rock.
The website is one of the best band sites I've ever seen too.
Origin of Symmetry VS. Absolution.
Go.
Origin has some pretty sweet songs, plus Citizen Erased, which IMO is Muse's best song.
And Absolution just has a bunch of amazing cuts on it.
So I'm really not sure, they are both soooo good.

Muse = Overrated early Radiohead re-hash. That is all that needs to be said.
Muse puts on one of the best live shows ever. I caught them in SF at this little club that only held 500 people. It was the best show I had ever been to. You all have to catch them live when they come back to the U.S. in the Summer. Absolution > all the others but not by much

Muse definately has a lot to owe Radiohead in way of inspiration, but they are too good to be considered just a rehash. On the whole Muse's music is a lot more rock based than Radioheads and for the most part a hell of a lot harder.
And as for Origin vs. Absolution...
I'd have to say Absolution because I think it defines Muse's OWN sound much more than the other albums.

The only thing that sounds like Radiohead are the vocals you fucking moron. How is their music a re-hash? It's not weird, it's straight forward rock, and Absolution won my top three favorite album of the year awards in 2003. It's the best shit.

being from scotland i cant get away from hearing muse which is so annoying because they are overrated and crap. It's quite annoying because the UK has much more talented bands such as skirtbox, the bombjacks, hundred reasons, pummel, mistake us for friends, the goodnight story, little hait...to name but a few. I dunno why everyone seems to be going crazy about muse, they are nearly as annoying as radiohead.

Muse = incredible. Sure his voice sounds like Tom York... big fuckin whoop, blame the vocal chords he was born with - he's still got an incredible sounding voice.

If anyone's overrated, it's Radiohead. Up until "Hail To The Thief" (which is a great CD), their 2 previous CDs were nothing but noise to me, experimentation whatever, I don't care. Basically, they were getting critical praise that I thought was rubbish. Like someone previously stated, I think it's safe to say they're quite inspired by Radiohead but they are also a straight-up original rock band which is a trait Radiohead no longer has in my opinion.

Muse is effin amazing. Gotta love the constant Rachmaninoff mentions in EVERY review of Absolution.

Muse and Radiohead are both amazing bands in their own rites, I love both of them and I wouldn't dare categorize Muse as a Radiohead rip-off...its so weird because when I opened this post I knew there was going to be at least one person who doesn't have the slightest idea of what they're talking about saying things like that but oh well I guess some people will never get it, but on a side note I choose Absolution, though I do have a soft spot in my heart for Origin Of Symmetry

muse is no radiohead rip off. they're decidedly different. to call them similar is to prove that you know nothing about radiohead, or muse for that matter. if you want radiohead ripoff, go listen to tinker's punishment, cos they sound like the bends and pablo honey era radiohead, and rather on point with it. my personal fave record by muse is definitely origin of symmetry. space dementia is one of the greatest tracks ever recorded by muse, hands down.

Denial? They're good, obviously, but the Radiohead influences run all over the place.

Between Tate's post and the review in the new Alternative Press, I felt I owed it to myself to give them a listen. And this is easily one of the best albums I have purchased this year.

Whatever man, I am sure there are far more people who enjoy rocking out to Muse than hate them.
Anyway, I know this was brought up on the this site a couple months ago when Blink's album came out but what about the similarities between thier albums? Both albums have 14 tracks, track 5 on both is "Stockholm Syndrome" and track 7 on both is the interlude. Strange coincidence or did Blink borrow from Muse a little bit?
And is Origin of Symmetry out in the US, I haven't seen it anywhere?
Muse and Radiohead own anything ever posted on this shitty little site.

It's nearly impossible to get in the US...you can probably get a store to order ot for you (Bullmoose Records did for me), but you won't find it otherwise unless you're lucky.
