View Full Version : Rx Bandits/Portugal. The Man Tour Set Lists?
This tour has already started I believe and it doesn't stop in St. Louis until August 8th, so I was wondering if anyone has a set list for any of the bands on the tour (mainly Rx Bandits, but a Portugal set would be nice too)

This is the first set-list I've seen, and it's not in order. From the Dallas show...
To Our Unborn Daughters
...And the Battle Begun
Only For the Night
In Her Drawer
On a lonely screen
Consequential Apathy
All The Time
Nugget
Sell You Beautiful
Serpent
Decrescendo
Encore:
Crushing Destroyer
Infection
Plus one of the new songs was played, there is a video floating around on youtube.
Steve Choi is playing some songs with Facing New York, so pretty cool for anyone on that leg of the tour.
imo that's a short set for a headliner, Rx Bandits played about that many songs last time I saw them... I'm glad they're playing a decent amount of songs off of Progress though

Their songs aren't that short to begin with, and the way they jam most of them out... it has to be a fairly long set.
I'm glad to see Nugget, one of my favorite live tunes, and it has been a long long time since I've seen Infection, hope they keep playing that. Their last 3 album closers in a row... epic.
I'll be seeing them in Wilmington, NC a week from now.

Can't wait to see this on the 30th. I'll try and write the set list down if I can...

I just got back from the St. Pete show and it was pretty much the same thing as above, but instead of doing an encore they just played all the songs. "Only For the Night" had a drum battle which was pretty intense, though, and one of the best live performances I've ever seen.

I'm so excited to see this tomorrow night. If they play Infection and Decrescendo I'll go home a super happy kid.

Sweet. That's good to hear. This should be an awesome show.

Last time they played in Orlando at the Social, the crowd began chanting the opening lines to Overcome, so I don't know if it was even on the setlist, but the Bandits began their encore with Overcome. I'll be the old guy chanting it tonight prior to the encore.

They play Overcome at every show
Looks like the same generic setlist that they been playing for the last 3 years.... I'll skip this show

So sick that actually happened tonight! What a great, great show.
I grabbed a setlist, which I'll post in a bit. And for the record, Overcome was not on the setlist.

This is what was on the setlist:
Frying
Consequential Apathy
And The Battle Begun
Nugget
Churizo (new song)
Sell You Beautiful
All The Time
In Her Drawer
Crushing Destroyer
Only For The Night (dueling percussion was SICK. fucking incredible to watch.)
--
crowd starts singing the part of Overcome we all love - "we've had enough of these politicians wars. we've had enough of these military scoreboards. all we need right now is love"
Then the band came back and said it was "awesome" what we all did. Then they played Overcome, which was not on the set.
Encore:
Infection
Decrescendo
Fucking amazing live band. I was having so much fun dancing and singing along. Great band, positive message.

RXB really ruled for sure. Here's Portugal. The Man's set for Orlando:
New song
New song
The Devil
Chicago
Church Mouth
My Mind
Their bassist was at a wedding so he was replaced with the bassist of RXB and of Facing New York for certain songs. As such, their set felt a little cut short which was a shame. But it was full of cool jams and what not, so it was longer then it looks but still was a disappointment. They sounded awesome though.
Facing New York played a set that was incredible as well, with a frontman that was genuinely funny. Their set was almost entirely unrecognizable for me, so they either played nearly all new songs or songs from their old cd prior to the self titled or a combo of the two. They sounded amazing though, and they played "Full Turn," which i did know.

FNY played all new songs in Wilmington, NC last night except for Full Turn and The Messenger, but the new stuff sounds great. I guess they can't play much of the old stuff without Fazzi.
Same deal with Portugal w/out bassist, but it was a pretty sweet set. started off chill with new stuff and built it up.
As for RXB...
I'll edit this if I remember the order, but here are the songs they played:
...And The Battle Begun
Consequential Apathy
Apparition
To Our Unborn Daughters
New Song
Nugget
Sell You Beautiful
Only For The Night
All The Time
In Her Drawer
Infection
Decrescendo
The drum battle during OFTN is insane, holy crap. Lots of new jams too. It was Chris Tsagakis b-day and an appropriately festive atmosphere, good times. Best show I've been to in a while.

I'm sorry but these RX Bandits setlists are pretty lame. 12 songs? Not to mention they played all of those songs on the tour last fall. I'm still excited to see them again, but it's disappointing to say the least...
Oh, and the "drum battle" in Only for the Night is probably the same fucking thing they did on the last tour. Switch it up, guys!

Really though. these setlists seem way too short. I want to get my money's worth and I feel like when i go in late august, it's still going to be short. Awesome, but too short.

They played for like an hour and fifteen minutes. "Only For the Night" was probably 15/20 minutes of that though.

I don't understand how anyone can be upset at the length of these setlists. They jam to several songs, and it's a different experience each time you see this band. Just because the songs are the same doesn't mean the experience will be.
Personally, I thought this was an incredible show.

yea, I bitched above too about the length, but their shows are always fun, I stiill wish that they'd switch up their set every night (like Thrice does)

That whole 20 minute "Only For The Night" jam really puts a damper on the live set because they can easily play about 3-4 more songs.
Just an opinion though

Sucks they stopped playing Infection. I'd love to see a set heavy with Progress/Resignation material.
wow Infection and Nugget get kicked off the set a week before they come to St. Louis, ha figures
P.S. what's the song "Frying in Jam" by Rx that people have been mentioning it, I've never heard of it, and I own all 4 CDs by them (excluding those dam bandits which was under their pharmaceutical bandits moniker)

I believe it's To Our Unborn Daughters, shorthand or a nickname I guess, probably an interesting story behind it.

rx bandits were awesome also. good mix of all their material. don't know a setlist, closed their set with a long (including drum off) rendition of "only for the night", and then came on for an encore.
all in all, every band was awesome.
Rx Bandit's Setlist for St. Louis (Friday August 8th): (all the songs they playeed; maybe a LITTLE outta order)
-In Her Drawer
-To Our Unborn Daughters
-Consequential Apathy
-Apparition
-Churizo (New Song from their upcoming EP)
-Dinna-Dawg (And The Inevitable Onset Of Lunacy)
-...And The Battle Begun

-Only For The Night (Part I)
(drum battle between both Chris's)
Encore:
-Only For The Night (Part II)
-Overcome (The Recapitulation)
-Decrescendo
11 songs seems short for a headliner, but they jammed almost every song out FOREVER....he said "No date on this tour has heard a jam like this yet" when they played Dinna Dawg for like 10 to 15 minutes, and Only for the Night drum solo/2nd part was crazy too, best 11 song headlining set I've ever seen they played for about an hour and a 1/2 if that gives you any idea of how long they jammed their songs for

Does anyone know the exact reason why the Omaha date was canceled? I heard a rumor that it was because Matt came down with a sore throat, but don't know for sure.
It just sucks this is the second time I've had the chance to see them in town in 5 years and the second time they've decided to cancel.
