i think he should have resigned/been fired years ago. the CIA has been (at least publically) a disaster for a few years now. maybe they do alot of things right that we never hear about because its top secret or whatever, but they've been pretty bad lately.

the guy screwed up big a few times (or there were big screws up under his watch) tenet had to go, there's still a few other people that should lose their job to though.

Bush announced that Tenet had "personal reasons" for his resignation.

How can anyone believe in that in times like these..? The CIA has fucked up, Tenet takes off.

i saw on foxnews last night that one of deputy director of operation in the CIA is going to resign today...it also said that the timing is just a coincidence...yea right

I thought that what they said was that the report being released about the effectiveness of the CIA was being pushed back a few weeks as to not look like it had something to do with Tenet's resignation. It isn't that he resigned for no reason, but that they don't want this particular report to look like the sole reason for his resignation.

im referring to the deputy's resignation occuring at the same time as tenet's

It's funny. It is very nice that these two resign a day apart from each other and looks very uncoincidental. On the other hand, if you want it to look coincidental how stupid would it be too be a day apart. Maybe just stupid enough for it to be a coincidence.

or maybe there's a scathing report on intelligence failures that's gonna be made public in the near future..........
