Phoenix's very own Scary Kids Scarin' Kids (http://www.scarykids.com) have signed to Hourzero (http://www.hourzero.com). It's about damn time this band got signed!

i feel the band deserves a better place than that. equal vision shouldve jumped on it and set them up on a good tour. its all the band needs
I think the last place SKSK needs to be is lost in the shuffle of EVR.
Tim will give them a good home.

i think that this label is shit compared to what they deserve. i completely agree in the fact that EVR would have been a great home. this label just seems too shady and cheesy to even put a band as great as them on their roster. im sad and dissapointed

When they prove that they can write their own lyrics, then they can have a bigger label. They got passed over by majors for a reason.

Tim owns this label and he knows more about the music business then most people could ever know about their own hand. He has nothing but best intentions for Scary Kids Scaring Kids and im sure that this will give them the right push to transition to a major label.

Bob Hoag (www.flyingblanket.com) helped write most of the original lyrics, and doesn't have kind words for the band...

hmmmm .... well I don't have many good things to say about SKSK, but I do think that Hourzero is a good home for them. They have a lot of growing up to do before they move on to a major label (if they ever do). Before they go to major label or even a bigger indie label they have to find a sound and style of music that they can call their own. Sounding too much like Thursday isn't going to get them too far.

The Chiodos Bros have played with these guys before in Arizona.... I believe they had good things to say, but I believe the Bob Hoag thing... he helped The Format write "The First Single" -- even though I totally love and respect The Format... Bob also produced one of my PR clients, Fifteen Minutes Fast... didn't have a hand in their songwriting though, haha. But he did have good words to say about their record:

from here in az, though originally from kansas city. their record needs a label. you should spend a bunch of your parents' cash and start one. This is my favorite of all my recordings right now.<<
(side note: www.searchandrescuerecords.com - they signed Fifteen Minutes Fast last year)
And for those who are not aware, Bob Hoag was the drummer for Pollen. He is now in The Go Reflex.

I was under the impression producers were supposed to help artists complete songs. It's not like SKSK lip synching.

Indeed producers are there to help "produce" your music, which is what bob did, very well in fact. But by no means is this why SKSK is so fucken good. They were just as kickass before they even stepped foot in the studio with Bob, believe me. And maybe sksk wants a smaller label for thier first ....im sure anyone who knows about the music industry might have an idea why. Anyhow, regardless of Bob Hoag and him producing thier EP the producer still has nothing to do with them being the best live band in arizona period....

hey what's up,
I guess I will clear things up that some people are confused on.
-bob did help write some lyrics to songs, as well as a couple vocal melodies. but other than that, we did the rest.
-we wrote all the songs before entering the studio
-I love bob to death. he is amazing at what he does, and is a very smart person. He does help a lot with making bands albums, I think he did a very good job at producing our album. Bob has no hard feelings against our band, and we plan to work with him in the future.
-not even half of our band was 18 when we recorded this album, lack of responsibility was a big problem with our band, but now is not a problem at all. (We have grown up a little)
-I think hourzero is the perfect place for our band at the moment. We still have some more developing to do, and this will really help out our band of what we need to do.
Thanks for everybody's support.
Peace
