It was 10 years ago,
The first move in my life
From state to state
It was the last I'll make,
Until this year came
Chorus
And I'll begin packing my things
For better beginnings
And a new life
Filled with new hope and people and love
Not surrounded by everything I once was
Taking along belongings and a sense of being
A new persona in this masquerade
Only if the cover up would fade
But it'll stay with the moves I make

Though 10 years went by fast
It was the only time I had with the same mask
Until this year had come
For the last of this old mask to be undone
(I am moving soon to Oregon and the only "big" move I have made is from New Hampshire to where I am living now, Hawaii. Also I don't know how I feel about the last verse/4 lines or the way the 1st verse is structured.)
