finding me

this is my latest poem..i'll post some of my old ones later.. :|

You treat me like a clone,
A clone of both you parents,
I want to be my own me,
And take the trail I wish to take.
It may be rough,
It may be long.

I want to evolve in to me,
But everyone is holding me back.
I don't even know who I am.
The world just seems so small,
But there's much more going on.
I want to be me.

Let me go out in the world,
Let me grow my own wings,
Even if my wings break,
My friends will help me up.
I know you're trying to keep me safe,
But it's keeping me from knowing.

I need to go on a journey.
It may be long,
But I'll be back.
I'm trying to find the true me,
And I'm going to be that me,
No matter who they are.

I don't care what you say about them,
It's me you're talking to anyway.
If you don't like them, then put me up for adoption,
And have someone else eat your pain.
In the end,
You're just a coward.
