im looking to find a few solid alt/rock bands, or at least something other than my usual pop punk band. shinedown and finger eleven are a few bands that im enjoying right now, but do you guys know of any other similar bands? i know theres a lot more out there, but i have no idea where to start. im not a big fan of the hard rock stuff, just more mainstream type music. and i cant stand screaming. i hope thats enough to get you guys thinking in the right direction. thanks for the help!

im trying to broaden my horizons. pop punk is getting too generic for me. i thought it would be a good idea to start with mainstream stuff, like most people do when they discover a new genre they like. i dont care what you think about these bands, i just want some recommendations for more bands.

Old school Finger Eleven is pretty good stuff. I cannot stand the new album.

Why don't you try listening to some old school Staind - when they were actually a solid band, a la Dysfunction.

On a more serious note:

Chevelle - Wonder What's Next
Sinch - Sinch
Injected - Burn it Black

Never, ever staind, though. Ever. Evereverevereverever.
