1. Wear as much plaid and black as you can. And pink and black is a must. And stick a lot of safety pins on them.

2. Go to Hot Topic and buy every band shirt they have. Who cares if you never heard of them!

3. Wear those stretchy wrist cuff things. In fact, buy a set for every day of the week!

4. Buy a guitar and tell everyone you've been playing/writing songs since forever. They never have to come over and actually see your skills...

5. Be really mean and cuss a lot and do everything Avril Lavigne does.

6. Buy a skateboard and carry it around with you all the time. Tell everyone how great you are at skating.

7. If someone asks you what your favorite song that a band you own the shirt of (see thing #2) say "Uh I dono what its called... Why do u care?? Fuck off!"

8. Avril Lavigne is your IDOL! And don't forget that. She's the punkest person out there.

9. Tell everyone your punk so they know. Because punk is cool and you have to be cool. If you have to write I'm Punk in safety pins on your shirt- do it!

10. Lots and lots and lots of black eyeliner. And no other makeup. You can't be punk if you don't look like a raccoon!

Around my neck of the woods, we call kids you just described "nu metal". The kids who are true punks, can dress like a prep, like theyre gay, like a wigger, an Italian or just about anything else. Just as long as they know good music & dont make a point of conforming, we label them the true punks. They are very few & far between. Its a dying breed, ya see. Quite said.

Don't forget the punkest thing you can do is have a Good Charlotte song title as your forum username.

uhm...can't we all just agree that emotionless has angered you emo mongers...besides...emotionless...y ou could not be more off about punk rock these days.

the rocker punk crowd at my school all wear tight pants, tight shirts (band and or witty saying), fro/long hair...well it's pretty much what you would call "preppy" with a safety pin here or there and a skull and cross bones somewhere.

don't deny it! you all know it's true!

REAL PUNKS DON'T WEAR PANTS!!!

I'm actually confused, is this thread supposed to be serious? I thought it was a joke but a few people seem to be treating it seriously.

oh god, I hate when people call others posers. just friggin stop labeling others. who the hell cares if they're a "poser" or a "punk" or whatever other motherfreakin labels are out there. just give it up, cause the poser thing is soo old. its only annoying now. wait, it has always been.

I cant believe that somebody spent all the time typing this whole thing out. Thats almost as pathetic as all the stuff he mentioned.

People still dont seem to get it. Punk isnt a look, its a state of mind. Like the other person said, "True punks" are very few and far between. Anyone who dresses a certain way to be "punk" is just desperate for attention and probably needs some help to deal with whatever issues they have.

And emotionless, youve been here long enough to have read the forum rules by now, so you should have known not to post this.

You came on here either trying to stir up an argument or to say, this is punk and this is what isnt. We really dont need that here. If someone shops at Abercrombie and they listen to Rancid, and they have a world view with a desire to change things, Id probably say that they are more punk that half the kids that post on here thinking The Early November and shopping at Thrift world is the epitome of punk rock.

No more threads like this one, and this one is closed.
