spansen
07/19/08, 03:20 PM
Youch. I'm glad that didn't happen.. My town's starting to try to become a little more biker friendly, as riding's become more popular with the rising gas prices.. Where I go to school, in Bloomington, at IU, it's extremely acceptable to ride everywhere.. Next month I'll buy a bike for being there to get me from place to place without worrying about the buses until it's cold or if it's just a shitty day out..

I ride my bike everywhere in town (except the grocery store, which I walk to and have gotten a couple of weird looks for as well); I've mainly just gotten the douche bags who speed by really close and honk--mostly high school kids who think they're hot shit because they just got their licenses. But it doesn't bother me knowing that I'm (1) saving money, (2) helping the environment, and (3) getting exercise.

Also, I don't currently have a bike helmet but I could see where that would get ridiculed. If I was in a less bike-friendly town / one whose streets were > 25mph I'd probably get one though.

I've been called a ****** for pushing my bike to the gas station to get air. The other day when coming back from class I was passing through in intersection that involved a street and alley. Car was coming out of the alley so all the other cars on the main street had the right of way, as did I since I was on the bike trail. Car from alley decides to speed up as I'm passing almost hitting the back tire of my bike. People are idiots. I do it for the exercies and it's a great money saver.

Um, we were all over the place: Oslo, Kaupanger, Bergen, Voss, Flam and a bunch of other places whose names I can't remember. We even went for a walk on a glacier in one place =]

Haha we'll you did visit Scandi, so I'm not suprised :P

Okay, so lots of driving around yeah. That's cool, must be weird to see ice in the summer. Might as well take the chance before they all melt away haha

haha, you have a "hard time getting off" ololololololol.

But yeah, I live a sad little life - at the beginning of today I think that my post count was a little below 8020... well, there's more to come :-D

But no, no n00dz or cypering, just Jon & Chelsea chatting a lot, as is what happens with most PL threads haha
Hahaha. My brilliant wording. :-)

Lol yeah. I wanna say that on Friday my post count was in the 2,700's and now it's over 2,900. This was one of three things I did all day yesterday haha.

Lol dang. I was pulling for you. But yeah, that does happen with most PL threads haha.

I managed to get over 1k in a 4 or 5 day period before I left. I was so impressed by that. But now I need to do it again =]

Haha, yeah - usually when people say that people from a particular country/area all look the same, it's a bad thing.

However, in this case, it's the best thing ever! :-D

Impressive.
:highfive:

My first bike was bright pink. True story.

My first bike was my sisters old bike which was pink with a banana seat, so i spray painted to whole thing red, but still had that pink seat...god i set myself up to look gay as a kid.

Yeah, but my bike was bright pink out of the factory. So rad.

I remember one of my bikes I got from Santa as a kid. I think it was purple. And on Christmas morning like immediately after getting it, I stuck Power Rangers stickers all over it. And I also had these glow in the dark bead things you put in the spokes to decorate them.
