Midtown is going to be going on tour with Lost Prophets this summer. Eighteen Visions will be along for the ride as well.

i will have to agree with the fact that this is a terrible tour. it is going to be the most moronically diverse crowd on the planet. Midtown has a shitty ass new record coming out that of course everyone is going to overhype because this website told them to. Lost Prophets now have a following of not eighteen year old music lovers, interested in FSOP, but eleven year old girls sporting the newest trend of clothes in Hot Topic. Eighteen Visions is going to bring the "hardcore" fans that believe that it will be worth going to and beating up all of the younger fans of the other two bands. yes, i just described how it is going to be at every show of the entire tour.

you know what all these negative comments you guys are making are simply for the sake of hating a band/bands because they have become mainstream, now to the person who said Midtowns new record sucks I have no comment beause I have not heard the new record so I can't comment on that but hating a band just for the sake of it really irritates me because thats all I see on this site 24/7, if you don't like the bands/tour or what have you then don't post about it seriously it gets annoying! I know everyone has a rite to state their opinions but its become excessive here (meaning people abuse it) and most opinions are contrived and because you don't like a band doesn't mean they aren't a good/hard-working band, now please enlighten me on how I am wrong and you are right! (end rant)

I was talking to my friend the other day, he goes, "you know you're website is big when people like bands because of what you say," he paused for a second and then goes, "and you know you're fucking huge when people hate bands because of what you say .."
Very interesting when you think about it. If you hate the album Jynxedheart, good for you - you can have that opinion, if you've heard the CD, but - at the very least, they write their own lyrics and are therefore better than the one band you show you listen to. The theme and meaning behind Midtown's new album must be beyond you. And when you begin attacking a band's fans it just shows you have no real argument. I mean, I guess the Beatles sucked because they had so many girls that listend to their music.
1/2 the crowd bitches when bands that sound alike tour together, and the other 1/2 bitches when bands that sound different tour together. Here's a great idea: shut up.
And to Refused: You have praised one band in a post on this website, Taking Back Sunday. I think you're taste sucks, and am glad that the music I listen to is not anywhere close to what you listen to. You claim to like Bright Eyes, and all these "deep" bands and you can't even figure out what Midtown is writing about ... it's quite comical.

We don't hate Lost Prophets for the sake of it. We hate them because they suck ass.
I like LostProphets and I'm not 11, and I'm pretty sure I'm not a girl. and I'm certain I haven't brought anything from hot topic
Thanks Tate, for saving my fingers 3 paragraphs worth of text...
This new Midtown CD is what should have followed "Save the World, Lose the Girl"...
they spent what, 5 months on "Living Well Is The Best Revenge" and you can tell... glad they didn't choose Mark Trombino, he makes them all sound the same, except for Jimmy Eat World...
P.S. Lost Prophets aren't terrible, they're just not the greatest

Just to clarify (Not that I know because I haven't heard Midtown's new album) but isn't it possible he has heard it, can understand the themes and appreciate the themes, but hates it because he finds that it sounds like shit? I know, themes are great and everything but you know what, music is about music, and if it doesn't sound good to you than ultimately, you won't like it very much. From what I've heard of Midtown, Is It Me and before, I find them to be very mediocre, and TBS to be excellent, because of one thing - they make my ears feel nice.
Once again, it seems like some people resort to insults just as easily as refused does. Never again do I respect the immaturity card.
(And I would see this tour for LostProphets, because I think the fake sound of progress is a great album and the new one is mediocre, but I find Last Train Home to be one of the best radio singles lately. I'd rather have seen them with Head Automatica a month ago).

Tate:
I praise taking back sunday alot not because i think they are the best, I do it because people start makeing fun of them just because its the cool thing to do now. I dont claim to like bright eyes, I LOVE bright eyes, in fact its my favorite band. Its not that i dont understand what midtown is writing about, its just that I can see right through the Childishness of it all. They just cant do a good job at reinventing themselves or writing songs like that. Their lyrics are now completely mediocre, the songs just translate into boring rock songs

Hey Tate, first off:
To the refernce about the band who doesnt write their own lyrics:
The Blood Brothers write their own lyrics, I highly doubt Geoff from Thursday would sit in with them while they make Burn Piano Island Burn if they werent writing their own lyrics. Just because you talk to lots of people doesnt mean you know the truth.
He was refering to JynxedHeart's fondness of Scary Kids Scaring Kids.

ah my fault i thought he was refernceing the blood brothers who he seems to dislike. Well i stand corrected.
but still Midtown = a band trying to be deep, failing, and soundlike a boring rock band

Who writes their lyrics? Sounds like a trashy band.

People don't seem to UNDERSTAND the Blood Brothers. They say it's random noise with no structure and senseless screaming. But I honestly think that many of the people on this board could become obsessed if they would listen the album a few times. There are some choruses, so the simplefolk are able to sing along. But there is a lot more. Reviewers probably hear the first track and give up. It's too bad. Rad music.

hahaha, grand...
As for the tour, Midtown should rock the place...I can't describe how much my mind has changed and how much I now love the song "Is It Me? Is It True" after seeing them play it live...amazing. Their whole set was, in fact.
The Lost Prophets and Eighteen Visions I wont' comment on too much, 'cause I don't know a lot about them. I do know that what I've heard off of the Lost Prophets first one is only so-so, and "Last Train Home"'s lyrics seems to be written for the sake of rhyming. I will admit the music's not bad, though, and they seem to enjoy the rocking out.
