Kinda off the theme but Brand new's original version of aloc acoc was called lions or something like that and had completely different lyrics, which were inspired by Rudyard Kiplings 'if'. I think

Actually, I was wrong. I quick visit to Meg and Dia's wikipedia page will tell you all the songs based on books, which include "Monster" but not "Courage Robert."

pretty much everything on tdag have references to the bible.

also: i'm stoked i found this thread. i need 50 allusions for school tomorrow. thanks to brand new, i'm almost done, but more are always good.

chiodos has a lot of romeo and juliet in it.
like, in bulls make money, bears make money, pigs get slaughtered when they say,
"has my heart loved until now, 'cause i feel as though i've never seen beauty till the night. i'm forever, yeah i'm forever yours" that's from it.

but there's stuff from that play in a lot of their songs.

don't know if this has been posted, doubt it since it's very odd but "Lotion" by Greenskeepers is great and somewhat hilarious, entire song is about The Silence of the Lambs
