View Full Version : I sprained my ankle

Any tips for healing it quickly? I've been icing it and keeping it elevated but it's a pain in the butt since I'm alone in my little efficiency with little sources for entertainment. If I get one of those lace up boot things do you think I can workout and move around? (I'd ask a doctor but the campus clinic is 2 miles away and I'd have to walk)

I'm no expert, the only advice I can give is keep doing what you're already doing (ice, elevated), but I would also suggest taking ibuprofen or acetaminophen to bring down the swelling.

lol at the anal..

anal is the cure for everything. Like last week I had a bug bite that really itched.. I gave a girl some anal and bam it was gone.

Can you do a "that's what she said" to your own post?

Alright, the serious part of this post. Ice it for about two days, keep it elevated, and then switch between heating and icing after those two days. Buy a nice ankle brace, I used one up until about 3 months ago, and you can totally work out with one on, I even competed with it on. Be very careful, because one sprain leads to more and that can lead to outright ripping of ligaments or breaking of your foot, so be very careful.

PL post:

fuck you, anal, you're a dipshit, go to the doctor, don't be a pussy, cut off your foot.

Ice it for only 20 minutes at a time. Too much icing can actually be a bad thing

Ice it. Elevate it. Try an anti-inflammatory.

Hahaha, thank you for both parts. Best PL post in the forum.

Thanks! Oh man, I used to work at a gym and this guy twisted his ankle. I told him I'd wrap an ice pack around his foot but he needed to take it off in 20 minutes or he'd get frostbite. He didn't listen and came back 2 weeks later with this huge scar from where his skin had frozen.

I ended up going to doctor because the swelling was getting worse and they gave me a badass grandpa cane. I want to give it flame decals so I can be like House.

You're doing pretty much the only things that I know, and I've sprained my ankle 4 times.

Same. My right one splits if I bend it a certain way, forming two small bumbs. I'm not sure that's a good thing.

Probably a bad thing. I have no feeling on the top of my right foot.

Last sprain happened because I was climbing out of my pool, over the side, and slipped on the grass.

Probably. I have no feeling on the second toe on my left foot.

breaking news!

Make a thread that is so absurdly ridiculous that everyone will have no choice but to post. Fun times will be had by all.

I fight in alot of Judo Tournaments and sprain my ankle all the time. A good way to make it heal quick is to elevate it and keep ice on it as soon as possible. If you want to walk around and do stuff then an ace bandage is recommended.
But keep the ice on it for at least half an hour!
Since I sprained both my right and left ankle so many times, I don't really feel the pain much so I just put the Ace bandage on and get on with my life....;)
