iPhone applications

I was just wondering for those who have iPhones what applications you use most from the appstore, and which are recommended (that are free, or very inexpensive) just to get an idea of anything that I'm missing out on.

My recommendation for anyone that has upgraded their firmware to 2.0 is to get Shazam - it's an application that allows you to put your phone next to a speaker, and it will tell you the song that's playing, and who it's by. If anyone has any suggestions, or apps to avoid, spill it here!

Tap Tap is amazing, as is Eventful. I also have Remote, and OneTap - which tells you showtimes of all the movie theatres in the area.

Only second hand. Apple have stopped selling 2G iPhones. Sucks for anyone who didn't get one.

Facebook - a little bit quicker than going to Safari and browsing the website
Pandora - a program that takes your favorite artists and plays songs like it, very cool cause it all streams and you don't need to waste paste putting your own music on
Tap Tap - like DDR and Guitar Hero
AIM - instant messaging
IGN Reviews - reviews of all new games
Box Office - shows reviews from Rotten Tomatoes and also showtimes from your area (a lot better than that ones you guys are talking about)
Shazam - tells you what's playing on the radio, car, etc.
Scribble - just to doodle when you're bored
Cube Runner - you fly in a 3D environment avoiding cubes
Blip Solitare - it's like playing pong with yourself
Jirbo Break - it's that pong-like game where you break things at the top
Bubblewrap - see how many bubble-wrap bubbles you can pop in 45 seconds
Morocco - the game of Othello
HaHaHa - take a picture, and Joker-ize it with the Jokers infamous make-up and "Ha Ha Ha's"

Cost money;
Monkey Ball - hard, but fun
Solitaire Top 3 - it has basic solitaire, freecell, and spider solitaire

I've only used it a few times, so I'm not sure, but I don't think you can create a channel with multiple artists.

You mean the greeting?

Go to your Voicemail section and at the top left there should be a tab that says "Greeting", click that and then hit "Custom" and record what you want it to say.

Yeah it should be set up with a default greeting, and then you can change it to whatever you want.

Nope. When someone calls me it says "This person doesn't have a voice mail. Good bye." and hangs up on them. I tried calling myself cause you can usually switch it then, but I get that same message.

Yeah, definitely something off with your service, you're going to have to call AT&T.

They're naturally already set up when you activate your phone.

Yeah, every phone I've had, and people I've known had, it does it by itself.


I do like that nobody can leave messages, so if work, or the girlfriend, calls, they can't say "I left you a message, why didn't you call back?"

Poof - gets rid of all the icons you dont use on your dashboard
spring dial - makes an icon w/ your contacts picture (if they have a picture) on the dashboard to call people (basically like speed dial)
customize - lets you customize bunch of shit. like your unlock slide button, you can change what certain things say.
drummer - drum machine for your iphone
snapture - a program for your camera that lets you zoom, resize photos, etc.
parking lot - a bad ass game.

Since this is apparently the unofficial iPhone thread, thought I'd post this here. Completely awesome site for ringtones that lets you upload an mp3, cut out what you want, then download it straight to iTunes. Lots of good stuff on there. I'm going to become hopelessly addicted to this I think

Yes they do. If you go to an app on iTunes it says if it works for iPhone, Touch, or both.
I cant wait to get my iPod Touch. I can't stand my Classic anymore.

Going to ressurect this thread since it's way old and I just got an iphone 3gs. I have $15 in itunes gc and dont' want to waste the $15 on stupid apps! Let me know what I should get! PLEASE! Also how do I make ringtones for the phone? Is there a good app? Is the site someone posted a few posts up good?
