pretty cool.

On the newer tracks, the mwY and Saetia influence on the vocals is pretty overwhelming. The music is pretty cool. "Future Wars" kinda reminded me of earlier/mid-life ETID musically. It was also way more interesting than the other stuff.

I like what I heard and will probably get some of this, but I don't know if they'd be a large doses band for me. The vocals make the stuff pretty dramatic.

Overall sweet though.

Alright, that's what I figured you were talking about. I could be wrong, but I think Here, Here was supposed to be a different style/concept. I don't have a copy of the whole CD(or mini-CD as their myspace says). I didn't know if you had gotten your hands on some of the tracks from the CD coming out in November. I think SATBOTRBVAA will be along the same style that Vancouver is, and the vinyl Here, Here II will be along the style of Here, Here.

I'm just speculating though.

I don't know, I do think he is good when he lets loose vocally, and there's really no guitar parts on the new record like on "A word of Welcome and Warning", but this new idea of holding it in until it almost has to be let out is intriguing. And I think the lyrics are much stronger on the new disc.

It's the whole, "we've matured" argument from a band, and while I think that it's a stupid thing to try and quantify or prove, I do think this sounds like a band with a definite focus and a sound that they execute extremely well.

I don't think the new album is bad at all. Its obviously different, but I wouldn't say its a backward step. Then again I've only listened to it once through so far. I might get the pre-order, who knows. I do agree with Mike, though. La Dispute's lyrics have always been pretty weak.

I understand what you mean. I've read the singer of Senses Fail try to compare his awful lyrics to Bukowski. It almost caused my eyes to bleed. I mean, dude is free to write what he wants, but that's thinking a little high of himself.

First let me open this by saying I Fucking Love SF. I do concur though that at times I can't really understand where buddy (sf singer) begins and, his influences end. "Still Searching" if a fucking pheonminal album. Lyrically it was what made it for me. I think he hit it on the head but, previous to that and post that album it just seems as if he was not comfortable enough with himself to just be honest. I canunderstand he prolly has a shit-ton of pressure and what not. Regaurdless I will back that band even if they never do top "Still Searching". They have upped there game live. Soupy is the shit. When you are a part of the music scene and release music yourself it's a lot harder to talk shit on someone. Especially if they, say... offer you a tour or something.

That said... I like Vancouver a lot more. The new one sounds extremely bi-polar to me. Not to say I won't get into it, eventually... just not right now. (diplomatic enough?)

wow everyone is kind of dissing the new album. the only thing i DONT like about the new album is the change in the way he screams. the music still seems the same and same with the vocal stylings. but in Vancouver, his talking/screaming transition was more natural. it was in a higher pitch, now all of a sudden he is trying to scream with a deep voice.

i would compare this to what Spencer from Underoath did with They're Only Chasing Safety and Define The Great Line.
