Here are my recommendations for the week. Mark from Spitalfield (http://www.spitalfield.net) has joined me as well so make sure you peep what he has to say as well as give both of us some feedback. Enjoy.
Say Anything (http://www.sayanythingmusic.com) - Is A Real Boy
This album has not left my ears since I've gotten it. This album is so intelligent and brutally honest that you'll even chuckle at times when you realize how true everything they're saying really is. This album is definitely battling it out for record of the year.
Midtown (http://www.midtownrock.com) - Forget What You Know
This album comes out next Tuesday (June 29th). This is going to be huge. There's a reason they're our featured band. There is a reason this album stays in regular rotation with me. I have a feeling majority of old Midtown fans will love this record. I'm sure there will be new fans of the band based on this album. Either way, make sure you see this band live soon as the mix of old songs and new songs is like a perfectly fit puzzle.
Muse (http://www.muse.mu) - Absolution
I'm a pretty big fans of bands hailing from across the pond (See: Coldplay, Franz Ferdinand, Funeral For A Friend, etc.). This band does not disappoint. I haven't seen this much diversity in a record in a long time. You have mellow tunes. You have hard booming tunes. You have it all. There isn't one problem with this record that I can find. Let's not forget their single, "Time Is Running Out," won't leave my head.
That's all I got for this week, but give Mark's picks a peep.

Death Cab For Cutie (http://www.deathcabforcutie.com) - The Photo Album
This is easily my favorite Death Cab full length. The recording quality is amazing, and the material backs it up. Ben Gibbard is one hell of a song writer, and this cd doesn't have a poorly written track. Perfect for both happiness and depression. How many albums can you say that about?
The Promise Ring (http://www.tpr-online.com) - Very Emergency
This is a must have for any fan of sugar coated pop rock. It may not be my favorite TPR release, but I recommend it to anyone as an introduction to the band if they're not familiar with them. "Happiness is All the Rage" is the opening track, and it speaks for itself.
Name Taken (http://www.nametakenmusic.com) - Hold On
Not only are they some of the nicest people in the business, they are also excellent at what they do. I had the pleasure of hearing a handful of these songs live on a tour with them last October. The wait for the cd was well worth it. It rocks, it's smart, it's catchy, and there's bound to be a little something for everyone.
Maxeen (http://www.maxeen.com) - Self Titled
This band needs no publicity help from me- but the cd has never left the rotation in my portable cd player since I bought it. The Police meet "today" meet "damn good". That's the best I can do.
Aloha (http://www.insomniaville.com/aloha) - Sugar
This cd was released in 2002, and isn't their newest material, but is definitely my favorite. They incorperate a wide variety of instruments with an amazing sense of timing. To help describe the band musically, I'll go out on a limb and say that they sound like no other bands I can think of- or at least not enough to make a comparison. They are beautiful, they are interesting, and they leave an impression.
