Ok guys, it's time to start up the pay league again.

Last year's buy-in was $15.

This year, I'd like to bump it up to $30 so the winner actually gets some good cash. What's everyone think? Who's interested, how much can you afford. I think last year's champ was Jdiggity.

Draft times are slim to none right now, but the draft is Thursday, August 21st at 7:30 PST / 10:30 EST.

Let's get this shit moving. Admission into this league will depend on a few things, if you can make the live draft, if you can make the payment with no problem (over paypal), and how regular of a poster you are here. We want this league to be super involved and competetive with regulars.

Oh, and last year's official free league has been renewed. Regulars that still post here that were in the league last year have been invited back. There are 4 spots left, so let me know if you want one of those, and we'll figure out a way to determine that.

disclaimer: my opinions, don't take offense, i'm sure they'll end up wrong anyways.

LWO - clear front runner. Paper thin at RB. Has 3 sexy picks at RB and if none of them pan out, he's essentially playing with an open position and no backup plan. That's really scary. But, he's dominating at WR, top 5 QB, and a good TE. I love his team but there's serious, serious concern at RB.

1moreandimfree - Not so hot. McFadden in the 2nd was a monster reach, and so was calvin johnson, who I believe was taken before anquan boldin and others of his caliber. weak bench. big upside but can't put him in the contenders after the draft.

xbrokendownx - love the top 2 WR and love the top 2 RB. don't like forte at the flex or anderson at QB. But the upside is there with Ronnie. Not a lot of holes. Bench is well-rounded.

livethesounds - bulger is a big question mark, but the WR combo of boldin and braylon edwards is huge. westbrook rules and reggie is always decent in PPR leagues, even if he doesn't kill it. good bench. this team actually might be better than mine, I like it a lot. outside of bulger and alge crumpler, who was a bad pick.

vincewithoutthee - this team is a mess. eli at QB is tough. steve smith and reggie wayne is beastly at WR, but it falls apart after that. Marshawn is sweet but that's it. kevin smith in the flex and an old, old edge..javon walker, very thin bench. my least favorite team by a significant margin.

soultosqueeze - i thought you overpaid for garrard and hines ward, but it's a well-rounded team. any team with brady has a chance, and you recovered well with mcgahee and lewis, not top tier but well done all things considered. this team might be better than I'm giving it credit for. i just think the bench is weak.

vanilla bear - no great players, but a very well-rounded team with a good bench. weak at RB, but randy moss is nice. bowe will be double teamed all year so I don't love that.

itsjdiggity - peyton to marvin, addai - it's the colts. he'll live and die by them. good value for coles. outside of addai, very weak at RB and that's a concern - but gates is nice. i dig this team.

fondestmemory - extremely, extremely weak at WR. benard berrian as a #2 is a disaster. maroney is a big question mark and thomas jones is as well, i do like mcnabb and gore but overall that WR situation is concerning.

Crit - Qb, WRs, RBs are all really nice. brees, housh, cotchery, jackson, maurice jones-drew. after that, i don't love it. paper thin at RB and a 60 year old derrick mason at the flex with troy smith throwing to him concerns me. but the top 5 are great, so props for that.

AP, romo, andre johnson. but the problem is, when you only draft 1 RB early, you leave yourself really thin there. and you took a QB too, so you're thin at WR and RB. weebs - i have to seperate myself for a second. i don't like my players, but i did fill gaps well. i got brandon marshall at a great value, torry holt is consistent and hopefully bulger is improved. like jonathon stewart's upside, and have a strong RB group in grant, LJ, and stewart. major weakness is putting a lot of faith in cutler (in rotoworld i trust) and also filling the gap at WR while marshall is out. crayton and hackett are ok for 3 weeks, but it's going to hurt.

i completely agree weebs. i'm a rb-rb guy through and through, even now, but at the 23rd pick andre johnson was still there, and then with the 26th pick, the only rb in the next ten overall was jamal lewis, who i hate for this season. i like taking qb's in the fourth or fifth rounds, but i felt like the rb spot at that time was way too weak. i'm going to end up trading a receiver to upgrade at running back.

and weebs, at the time Crumpler wasn't a bad pick. The only TE that was better than him at the time i picked him was Todd Heap, and i ended up getting him a couple picks later. Plus i think Crumpler is going to have a good year with VY there. Scaife has been his primary target for the past couple years, but Crumpler is a few notches better than him, so i think things will work out ok with that pick. if not, there's always Heap.

Analysis of the free league teams...because I'm extremely bored.

AshesAshes - Top five QB in Brady, but other than that, there's not a whole lot I like about this team. Wide receivers should likely be fine, probably around middle of the pack in terms of WRs. Not a whole lot of depth at that position though. Do not like the RBs at all. McGahee concerns me with his knee injury, and will lose carries to Ray Rice. I don't particularly like Graham as a starter either. Not very much depth at that position either.

vanilla bear - good group of receivers and good starting backs. Having Felix Jones, Bradshaw and M. Bush as your RB depth isn't that great, IMO. I'm a bit iffy on Anderson at QB, but I think he should be fine given the talent around him. overall, good team that I could see contending for the title.

teddy - I like Romo as QB so he should be set at that position. However, i don't like Chris Chambers as a #2 receiver, and there's not a whole lot of depth behind him. good starting backs with AP, Maroney and then Taylor at W/R, but after that, there's no one. Kenny Watson won't see too many carries if Perry and Rudi stay healthy.

Start Today - Overall, I just think this is an average team. good at QB, but pretty average at WR, RB and TE. middle of the pack team for me right now, but possibly could contend if Turner and Vernon Davis have good years.

1moreandimfree - Two good backs with Addai and Mcfadden, and then Stewart at w/r. I like the WRs if Burress and Chad can stay healthy, but QB is a big question mark. Favre may struggle in a new offense, and having Tavaris Jackson as backup isn't too reassuring.

fondestmemory - Love the running backs. Two good starters, plus some good backups. TE is set with Winslow, but i don't like the receivers too much. Roy Williams and ward are good as starters, but there's not very much depth at the position. i don't like Eli at QB at all. Probably a middle of the pack team for me.

LWO - I really really like this team. good depth and starters at each position. definitely one of the top teams. only position that worries me a bit is RB, but not too much.

Thrillwaukee/Drew - Probably the worst team in the league. Manning will be solid as usual at QB and same with Moss at WR, but there's no depth at all. Paper thin at RB and same with WR until Marshall comes back.

xbrokendownx - another one of the top teams, IMO. Good QB, good RBs and good wideouts. another contender for sure.

iihungrieii - Good starters at each position aside from w/r. Galloway there concerns me a bit, but theres no depth on this team at all. Should be a pretty solid team unless injuries hit.

Weebs - another top team. Not really much to say other than a pretty solid team that could stand to improve a little bit at rb.

my team - Overall, I'm very satisfied with my team. I think I have the best WR depth in the league, and one of the top QBs. RB needs some improvement as there's not very much depth, but I still feel I can contend.

and like Weebs said with his rankings, don't take offense. These predictions/analysis could end up being entirely wrong.

Fondest, Maroney MAY finish the season with better numbers than Selvin Young (although i'm kinda doubting it if Lamont Joran ends up backing him up), but there's no way a guy i was considering taking in my last 3 or 4 picks is equal to my second pick in the draft haha.
