Ya so im trying to make a love mix cd and i need the best of the best in songs. I really want it to be a complete variety cd so i want hardcore, pop punk, punk, 80's, ska, emo, acousting, anything that carriest the message well. so far all i can think of is Nightengale by saves the day, every thug needs a lady by alkaline trio, and ultimate devotion by strung out. Also I need help deciding which song to use from the cure and which to use from 311 so give me your ideas on those two bands too. Thanks a lot i really appreciate it especially since im sure you've helped a million people out with this already.

as for the cure, i was thinking about suggesting "the same deep water as you" but instead you should include "just like heaven" as that seems to fit with the overall tone of your mix better. "TSDWAY" seems and bit to slow and dreary feeling.

I dont know if you only want a song from the Cure and 311 but if not here are some more.

The Spill Canvas-So Much
Starting Line-Last Impression
Unsung Zeros-Louder Than Words
Copeland-Priceless

Hope it helps

80's songs that might work:
Toto - Africa
Billy Joel - She's Got a Way
Cars - You Might Think
Hmm, maybe something by Journey
The Police - Wrapped around your finger
Styx - Lady
U2 - With or Without You; All I Want is You
Bruce Springsteen - Tunnel of Love
a couple of these are high on cheese factor, but they get the point across...

Thrice - The Red Death

FMTIH is a great song. And I agree with that Trio pick.

That Thrice tune never struck me as a "love" song, since it's based on Poe's "The Masque of the Red Death", but to each his own I guess.

Maybe I was getting the song names mixed up.

I was thinking of the one where Dustin sings "I wanna take the bullet, the one aimed straight for your heart, I wanna meet the wolves halfway and let them tear me apart"
