Just looking over the charts. Why the hell is marijuana a Schedule I drug while cocaine is Schedule II?

Because cocaine still has a "legitimate" medical use. I believe it's used in eye surgery. Whereas medical marijuana has yet to become "legitimate." But the United States' drug schedules are completely insane, so don't pay any attention to them.

Wikipedia tells me that cocaine is used as a local anesthetic for eye and nasal surgery, which is why it's classified as Schedule II. I don't think marijuana has been approved by the FDA for medical use, so it's still Schedule I.

...why are you looking at the charts?

I never saw you as a liberal type.
But really, you think cocaine, crack, meth, and heroine should be legal and easily accessible? I suppose it's a bit hypocritical, but I think we have to draw the line somewhere.

i've always classified myself as liberal since i joined this site............2002,maybe 2003............and if you bothered to check out my political posts it would be obvious to you where i stand in world politics..............but oh that's right........you think all christians love george bush and hate freedom.
crack, meth..............and definately heroin have a legitamate place in society.

I heard from the grapevine that marijuana has been given to anorexics to boost their appetite, and I read that it's used in the treatment and prevention of alzheimers, but w/e
