I don't know if anyone listens to them here, I only found one thread and my reply was the second, after which it quickly sank to page 3 or 4. But seriously... check them out....

I just got the new album, The Devil, You + Me and it's really good. I downloaded two of their others, their self titled release from almost 20 years ago and Neon Golden, which most of the critics seem to consider their masterpiece. I'm listening to it now and I'd have to agree, this is one of the best records I've ever heard.

Currently they're do the whole experimental/electronic/ambient/jazzy rock thing kinda like what Radiohead was doing on Kid A and Amnesiac, I'm thinking a lot of people would like them if they ever got the chance to hear them. Their older stuff sounds like a completely different band - the first album has a lot of metal and hardcore influence. I haven't been able to track down the albums they put out between the debut and Neon Golden, but I'm really curious to see how they could completely transform their sound like that...

Hey do you by any chance happen to have their album 12? I haven't been able to track that one down, and I can't afford the $30 pricetag it has on amazon. If you have it wanna work out a trade of some sort?

The Notwist is amazing.
Their lyrics make you think and have a lot of room for interpretation.
Plus the music itself is beautiful.
Shame, it's so hard to find others that like this band.

i haven't heard anything other than 'consequence' which i absolutely adore.
it sends me to sleep every night haha

Consequence was my first Notwist song too. =)
I was mesmerized the first time I heard it and it was on repeat for like 6 hours.
Amazing band with amazing music, you won't be disappointed if you get more of their stuff. ;D

Good to see more people have heard of them. And yeah, "Consequence" is an amazing song. I now have all of their stuff except for 12, I can't seem to find it anywhere... and how the hell do you google an album with a name like that? If anybody has it and would like to share, I can promise you will be greatly rewarded in the afterlife. Or something like that.
