not saying they're similar, but which one would of the newer FBR signings would you rather listen to?

I'll always think of the Simpsons when that song was playing and the guys from the O.C. went to Knoxburry Farms and Snoopy robbed them. Good times.

Wow. Not even a contest here.

The Cab is generic TRL friendly pretty boy scene pop crap with little or no talent and nothing remotely interesting about them at all. Phantom Planet has been making great pop records for a decade and still haven't lost it yet. Raise The Dead is one of the year's best albums so far, and might possibly be their best album yet. "pwns" isn't a strong enough word to describe what Phantom Planet does to The Cab.

The Cab is one of the worst bands I've heard in a long time. Even Lance Bass thinks it's bad and he was in the band they ripped off.

Phantom Planet will unfortunately forever be associated and known primarily for California and ties to The OC. They're actually a consistently evolving band that plays solid-to-good music and doesn't receive nearly the amount of attention or accolades their talent merits, but are merely viewed as the "California guys." It's a shame.

From their first album - a fun play on Surf Pop and pre-Post Grunge Alt Alternative to the straight up Powerpop feel of the second LP to the Garage Rock Revivalist sound of the third full-length, they're a good band, and nobody thinks of them as such.

Phantom Planet, just because The Cab blows that much. Haven't really listened to PP. Meh.
