well back in March at a show in the Empress Ballroom in Connecticut i saw the higher and i think i was the only one there who knew any of their songs. They were cool and gave me a few posters they had lying around and Seth was nice and shit... anyway I was there with my gf...it was my b-day present from her. after their set was over, She got all of them to sign a shirt for me and i guess started talking to Tom. So after that we were all talking and Tom was taking pictures with his camera of the fog... then he took pictures of her. For some reason she seemed starstruck. I know if i wouldn't have been there they would have hooked up, asa he was flirting with her even with me there. Since March I think I've listened to the Higher's cd about 1 time... i don't think i've been ignoring it consciously but i dunno maybe that kinda turned me off. Sorry if this was pointless i just thought it pertained to the topic.

I do think that when band members act like they are these sensitve tourtured souls on stage and with their music, and then act like horny frat dudes when off stage, getting drunk and trying to hook up with anything that moves, it takes away from the their credibility in my mind, keeping me from enjoying them much again.

Not saying that even emo or hardcore kids can't enjoy some stray tang every now and then, but being getting wasted then getting all agressive with girls and hitting on fans' girlfriends kinda reflects very poorly on your band in my eyes.

I concur with what the bossmancalling is saying, however, ya gotta see it from the band's perspective. My band went on tour with The Early November for like a week. 3 of us had girlfriends and it was only a week but during that week you easily start getting lonely, horny, etc. Seriously, it was like day 3 and every girl I saw I was drooling over. Granted, I didn't do anything and I kept my cool. But for some of these guys who are single, I could easily see how a couple of months on the road can turn you into nothing more than a walking penis after you played your show.

For my account, my GF goes to Tufts in Boston and i told her to see Northstar when they came in town. Her friend ended up knowing one of the bandmates and they went to some frat. But anyway i guess the Bassist hit on my girl but she turned him down and ended up just going back to her dorm which she then called me and told me about her experience (which i was pretty proud that she get hit on my some band kinda like bragging rights you know?)

Then i saw northstar here in colorado 2 weeks later. I didnt know which bandmate hit on her, just knew it was a guitarist (she didnt know one from the other, like bassist to lead) anyway i just knew he had long hair. Ended up i was sitting right next to him while this english band was playing. But i cant help myself from feeling so much better then him hahaha.

Here's why Jason:

1. Less and less actual news is posted
2. More and more rumors are being posted
3. More of said rumors have little to do with music issues and more to do with petty bullshit between bands/people/staffers
4. The coverage of the site has never been all that stellar; e.g., you have no one on staff that posts about more traditional punk bands and lesser-known punk bands. Instead, there is a constand barrage of pop-punk news, with some pop-hardcore news thrown in for good measure. There's nothing wrong with that news, but where's the news on other stuff...when did anything get posted about hardcore punk or ska or traditional punk? I mean, expand the site and it'll be better. But you seem unwilling to get staffers who are ACTUALLY into said music scenes, so it won't change.
5. The review system needs to be revamped: no one wants to have 20 reviews for an album, most of which are awful.
6. You have staffers who get unneccessarily attached to bands and post about totally irrelevant things about them cluttering out any actual semblance of news.

...I could go on, but it's irrelevant anyways.

I could probably still listen to the band. The band member most likely didn't know that she had a boyfriend when they got it on. It's not their fault she's a fucking slutbag. It would be a different story if they knew and then still went through with it.
If I were a guy that's probably how I'd feel.. but I'm a girl and I don't like any girl bands/singers so I guess I'm excluded from the question.

Anyways, I've been hit on by soooo many guys in bands. I think it's kinda funny (and hell, it's a good ego boost sometimes) unless the guy's a complete jerk about it. Some are more upfront than others.

And since we're on the topic of Kenny (whom I shall continue to call Kenny) I thought I'd just say that kid followed my friend and me around for like 30 mins at last years Warped. It was kinda odd.. but cute cause he was like a puppy or somethin. He also reminds me of that cartoon Hey Arnold.

LOL. To be fair, I am like 99.8% sure that one of my ex girlfriend's actually did hook up with Ryan Key after some show ... she's sorta a slut though, so I half-expected it.

I am not sure what I would do if those three had an orgy though, that would be fuckin weird .. and Buddy's hair may get in the way and just cause a weird mulletxcore porn video that would disturb me to my very soul and I would never again be able to look at the girl watching the same way and be turned on - it would probably effectively ruin my relationship.
