Busta Rhymes did not play a solo set, it seemed as if Ashes Divide and The Bravery played for slightly longer than they were supposed to to compensate for the lost time. Also, Street Drum Corps did play on the main stage for about 20 minutes, I didn't get a setlist for them because none of their songs are real songs anyway.
Armor For Sleep was a strong opener, I enjoyed their set although as much as I like The Way Out Is Broken and Stay On The Ground, I think they should play more songs that would be familiar to such a broad audience, i.e. The Truth About Heaven, Dream To Make Believe, etc. But nonetheless they knew what they were doing and are entertaining as always.
Hawthorne Heights is a band I was never really into, but I was curious to see how they sound since they are down a member, and they do live up to the studio recordings' quality. The crowd was actually more motivated by their performance then Armor For Sleep. I feel as if they put on a sufficient show and I would not mind seeing them again.
10 Years was incredible. The entire band was into the performance, everybody in the band was mouthing the lyrics to all the songs. The crowd however was very calm. Their songs are rather mellow, but they all seem to be good musicians and were entertaining.
Atreyu was very good, but not loud enough for some reason, unless I just started going deaf from the three previous bands, who definitely had it cranked to eleven. This is the third time I have seen them and everytime they are very energetic and into the music and funny too. Definitely a good Rev Stage headliner, although I think they should have been the precursor to Linkin Park and Chris Cornell should have closed this stage. Atreyu deserves to play at night on a real stage, not in a parking lot in the middle of the day.
Ashes Divide were not very good. The lead singer has no idea how to project his voice over the instruments and it was clearly not the soundboards fault. I was also kind of disappointed that they opened with The Stone since it is really the only song I like by them, it left not much to be looking forward to in their set.
The Bravery has gotten a lot of shit from people on this board and I'm not sure why. This is the second time I've seen them and I feel like they've put on a very entertaining show both times. But from experience, Fearless is a 10x better opener than Swollen Summer, but oh well, entertaining nonetheless.
Chris Cornell's band was very good, he, however, did not thrill me very much. Every verse in every song sounded like one long slurred word, maybe he was drunk, or maybe it's just me, but it seems like he doesn't have much desire to sing anymore. He was joined by Chesthair Bennington on Hunger Strike which was mildly entertaining, and then during Black Hole Sun he ventured out into the crowd and made his way onto the lawn and then all the way to the upper deck and back down in time for his closing song. It was pretty humorous watching every audience member that got near the mic try to sing the song though.
Linkin Park: A lot of people don't seem to like this band very much. I admit myself, the turntables thing is kind of stupid, but they are a kickass band live. They put every ounce of energy they have into their performance and had everybody from the front to the back of the amphitheater standing for the entire performance. They can't really be that bad, if they can pull that off they must have some talent. Busta came out for We Made It in the encore but really looked like a pile of shit, which is a good hint to why he didn't have a full set this night.
