At one of the recent Warped Tours I went to, the Hidden In Plain View (http://www.hiddeninplainview.com) boys let me have a listen to their new CD they just finished recording. And let me tell you, you kids are in for it. The new CD left behind anything that might have been holding them back, and is a very mature step forward. Each song is completely unique. My favorite of the ones I heard was with Andrew Mcmahon playing piano for the track. This CD is going to blow up.

That's awesome. I can't wait for the album. What I can't wait for even more is the fact that I will most likely get to interview them for my website, Failure by Design Magazine. There will definitley be great things coming from them in the future!

Ehh, this band is ok, but just ok. I think calling all of these bands (i.e. Fall Out Boy, HIPV, The Early November) AMAZING!! is kind of over stepping it a little bit. Fall Out Boy sound exactly like every other skate punk band that came out in the mid-nineties but worse. HIPV sound like Taking Back Sunday but worse. The Early November sound like Jimmy Eat World but worse.

I just don't understand why ap.net always shits a brick over bands and albums that are dervative and medicore. I just get sick of reading "The new Story of the Year is THE BEST ALBUM EVER RECORDED!!!! Oh, and by the way, Avril Lavigne is a poser!" Anyone else see the irony???

I like all the above mentioned bands, don't get me wrong, but they are only ok.

I guess its just a matter of opinion though, so what the funk do i know.

not shocking that andrew mcmahon played piano for them, Jim Wirt produced the record, he's done all of Something Corporate's cds (except Ready..Break)..

I heard the cd, I'm not that impressed, but because Jim Wirt had his hand on it I'll buy the cd and probably open up a lot more to it.

i sure do hope these guys got better. the earlier stuff really made me want to send them a cd that didn't come out on drive thru, just so they might be influenced by something that hasn't already been done on that label. although i think that's kind of been the trend with drive thru lately.

birdman does make a very good point, none of these bands are amazing or groundbreaking. however, it's not easy to find anything that caliber these days. so while it is a valid point, it's not gonna be easy to find.

Listen to the Songs Exchanging Two Hundred and The Course of Human Life, and really listen to the songs. I wasnt the biggest fan of them either until i really started to listen to their music. And Fall Out Boy isn't skate punk. And theyre lead singer can straight up sing. My bad for the moron statement u just made me a little mad.

If you listen to Static Prevails (the first JEW full length) you may find that TEN sound a lot like JEW. Also, I never said that sounding like another band is a bad thing, I like a lot of bands that sound like other bands. But, in my opinion, Ill take the original over the copy any day of the week.

My post wasn't a direct attack on you, so telling me to go to hell is kind of reactionary. I was just commenting on how every record is the best record in the world. And although you didnt say those words exactly, I felt that my post was relevent enough.

I couldn't really tell you how they sound alike, but then again you cant tell me how they dont. If you were with me right now I would gladly play you some old Jimmy Eat World and then play you some TEN, and let you decide. And to me, Fall Out Boy just sounds like Less Than Jake (with roger singing) but without the horns. And ironically they were on FBR. I am not denying either one of these bands talents, because I do think they are talented, just nothing to write home about.
