Haha, now I know why it reminds me of ESIV so much. Kind of like Elder Scrolls mixed with Bioshock.

Just got the PC version, played for the past two hours, really love it. And it runs surprisingly well on my computer.

Speaking of ESIV, can anyone tell me if it's any harder to play on a PC with the keyboard? Like should I buy a controller or is it easy enough with the keyboard?

Agreed. By the time I had finished the first story quest, I was a good 10 hours into the game. By that point in GoW2, I would have probably been finished with the entire campaign.

The Fat Man has to be one of the coolest weapons ever made for any game. Of course, I use the combat shotgun more simply because mini nukes are hard to come by. I'm kinda annoyed that I decided to play a good character, Moira is annoying the fuck outta me, and I really, really just wanna blow her brains out.

You can blow up Megaton and still have the opportunity to complete Moira's quests. Pretty funny

I'm pretty unimpressed. I was really into it for a while, but the game gets so repetitive so fast, and so does the scenery. The tunnels are all designed the exact same, the city ruins blend together, disappointing. I don't know if I'll continue on.

Most subway tunnels in major cities are designed the same. The scenery is repetitive because it's a wasteland, there is no vegetation to liven things up. The things you have a problem with are design choices based on the nature of the game. You should have done more research into what the game dealt with before purchasing.

I've been ready for this game for quite some time. Just because I'm not always in the video games thread does not make me some ill-informed gamer.

The scope is poorly designed. Just because the area is a wasteland does not mean all the buildings have to look the same, or that there are 3 different types of raiders, all the same race, all wearing some variation of helmet, mask, and leather armor. That's not a product of a wasteland - that's a product of cutting corners on design. I understand that drab and depressing is a mood the game wants to set - but variation can be achieved by architectural variation, of which there is very little.

I am warming up to it, enough to the point where I'll probably beat it. Very dissapointed in Bethesda's design choices though, the lack of unique enemies is fucking horrible. You've got raiders, super mutants, zombie dudes. That's it so far, and I'm 12 hours deep.

12 hours deep and just arrived at rivet city (spoiler tagged for those who aren't that far, criticisms to date)

I also don't like how they talk about scope, and the game being so deep, when in fact it's very, very linear once you get out of the megaton area. once you get into DC, it's incredibly linear - everything is blocked off by rubble, you have to scramble through cities to find what seem like endlessly confusing subway/train systems that all look exactly the same inside, with the same raider camps, with the same raider people. the main quest stuff is great, the choices of fate, good/evil quests fantastic, but the rest of the game is pretty horrible, IMO, outside of the design of a broken city (which even DC seems a little phoned in, a lot more detail could have shown up)

Even the main quest really doesn't seem that inventive to me, how many times have we all played RPGs where you're trying to find someone, people have information about them, but in order to get this information, you have to do elaborate favors for them... and then once you arrive you're one step too late and they're gone. Meh. Been done, a thousand times.

that being said, i am mildly enjoying the game (other than getting lost in the subway systems for hours). thank god it has quick travel.

yes. avid RPG fan and have no problem with expansive enviornments - I just found this one repetitive and not very good.

Although I was initially in love with this game,I never felt compelled to finish it. I love open world games, but for some reason I eventually lost any motivation to keep playing.

I haven't played in a couple months now. I'll probably give it another chance soon and see if a fresh approach keeps me interested.

Definitely FO3. New Vegas is good, but there was a lot of glitches. Those have probably been fixed but I haven't played since then. Also,3 is longer.
