View Full Version : Bands who you'd like to see do a "Neverender"?

LifeInDecay

For those of you who don't know "Neverender" is an upcoming event by Coheed and Cambria where they will be playing all four of their albums live in there entirety. I have never been a big Coheed and Cambria fan but I thought it was a cool idea and would be great for fans. It made me start to wonder what bands I'd like to do the same thing. So what band would you want to see do a "Neverender"? What albums would you go to for and which albums would you skip?

I personally would love to see Alkaline Trio do one. I'd go to every album except Crimson (Agony and Irony is questionable). I saw them live but they didn't play nearly enough old stuff so to hear Goddamnit and From Here To Infirmary in there entirety would be pretty awesome.

So now you know my opinion, what's yours?

Coheed is actually doing that? I wouldn't mind seeing their first two albums.

And I would love to see mewithoutYou do all their songs.

Less Than Jake did this last year over the course of 6 nights in Florida (and then followed several months later by the same thing in England). It was awesome then, and I'd love it if they did it again (only adding an extra night for GNV FLA).

Truthfully....that's kinda cool. but kinda NOT at the same time.

There aren't THAT MANY bands whose albums are great from start to finish.
There is always a song or two or three that just doesn't do it for you.
Sometimes anyway.

But uhhhhh, as always my textbook answer would have to be:

BRAND NEW!!!!!!!!!!

When they did it last year, they only played "Pezcore," "Losing Streak," "Hello Rockview," "Borders & Boundaries," "Anthem," and "In With the Out Crowd." They decided not to do "Losers, Kings, and Things We Don't Understand" since it's a combination of old EP's or "Goodbye Blue and White" or "B is for B Sides" since they're both unreleased and b-sides stuff. They did, however, play for about 45 minutes after they finished whatever album the night was for which included some tracks from these (I specifically remember "Losing Streak" from GB&W). They even had Derron (one of their old horn players) come back and play on some tracks with them.

I definitely like your list, but I'd stay through Big D because I'm a fan of "Strictly Rude."

I saw him 3 years ago in Detroit. It definitely wasn't the greatest concert in the world, but it was still Bob Dylan. The band he was playing with was pretty decent, though, which made him sound better. The only real problem was that he played a lot of "Love and Theft" songs because it was his newest album at the time. That part kind of sucked, but he still played a lot of great stuff. A lot of his songs sound very different in concert, though, so if you aren't aware of that be prepared. I didn't even know he was singing "All Along the Watchtower" until like the last line of the song. Another thing to watch for are the seriously crazy people who show up. You get that at every show, but I was amazed how many lunatics were at Bob Dylan. There was a guy two rows behind us who brought his own harmonica and would whip it out and start playing along (off tempo and wrong notes) every couple songs.

I'm hoping that he doesn't play a lot from Modern Times since it was released back in 2006, but even if he does, oh well. And I wasn't sure what to expect from him, in terms of how the songs sounded. Which Beatles songs did he play?
Well, this was about six years ago so I can't remember them all but it was mostly all his big ones (Yesterday, We Can Work It Out, Hey Jude, Hello Goodbye, Paperback Writer, Lady Madonna, Let it Be, etc), some of his lesser known ones and then he did a few George and John songs but not many. Can't recall them by name at the moment.

Well damn then.
Haha, well then again - this was six years ago, so I'm sure his set has changed since then.

I never even thought to go and see him because I didn't realise he'd play that much Beatles stuff. Woah..

I want to see him play A Day In The Life live. One of my favorite songs ever.

Same here. Even short term time travel would suffice at the moment.

He even played stuff from the Abbey Road medley.

I'd love to see it being played in it's entirety.

I'm hoping that he doesn't play a lot from Modern Times since it was released back in 2006, but even if he does, oh well. And I wasn't sure what to expect from him, in terms of how the songs sounded. How are they different? Is his voice even worse than it already is in the recordings? And oh man, I hope I don't get a crazy harmonica player behind me. But that is kind of funny, haha.

He basically just talks at this point, because while his voice was never his strong point, it's even worse now. He changes the arrangements of a lot of songs. Some don't change, but like I said earlier, some you can't even tell are the same song. He does like to play his newer stuff too, so expect a lot of Modern Times. It's still Bob Dylan, though, so it's fun.

Ughhh I don't like Modern Times. But like you said, it's still Bob Dylan. I can't wait to hear what else he plays. And I was banking on his voice being pretty terrible at this point.

Thanks. I've been really into him lately. He's fantastic.

And oddly enough I just changed my avatar from Paul McCartney to Ryan Adams, haha.
