(I am prepared to be ass raped for the personal opinions I am about to express, thank you.)

So, I recently attended my city's Warped Tour.
(I was there with work actually, thank God I didnt have to PAY for the tix, would've been a waste.)

I was pretty disappointed. All of these bands that are breaking out now are beginning to sound the same. Everyone had on their bright neon tshirts, and $5 kanye sunglasses or stunna shades. I digress. All I am saying is, how can you tell one band from the next anymore? They really are all starting to blend together into one mega-pop-punk-fest.

Now don't get me wrong, I dig me some catchy choruses and hooks. FO REAL. But I certainly do miss that thing called ORIGINALITY. I understand this is the sound that is SELLING at the moment. But remember a few years back when HXC was all the rage? (No pun intended) What are these poor bands going to do when this genre starts to flounder? Only the STRONG will survive. But I don't hear anything strong about majority of these bands.

God Speed to all bands whose songs begin with a catchy synthy keyboard intro.

VIVA LA ORIGINALITY! DEATH TO SHORT LIVED TRENDS!

& again....GOD SPEED!! Now go ahead and try to negate my argument.

*ding* *ding* *ding* CONGRATULATIONS! Your purchase of neon orange entitles you to a free copy of PUNK GOES CRUNK. Where bands who aren't even considered punk, re-make popular rap songs in order to increase their internet popularity and further prove how UNORIGINAL they really are!!!!!!

I got to see Aggrolites, Oreskaband, Broadway Calls, Protest the Hero, and Against Me! this year. Wasn't really worth the ticket price but it was fun for what it was (though, the crowds were small and most of them sucked, considering RBF had to play at the same time Aggro was playing.)

How was that Oreska Band? I saw them walking all around. And I listened to their myspace today, i'm not a HUGE ska fan. But I appreciate a good live show, which it seems like they would definitely put on!!

Was a great show. I don't really listen to their music often, but live it was fun. Especially since they were really nice people. Plus, Dr. Manhattan was in the crowd and those guys are hilarious. Were you at the scranton warped?

I'm glad this came up... where can I buy the $5 Kanye stunna shades?

I went to a bar the day after Warped and some guy had a big box of them and he was giving them out to everyone in the place. I told him that he could probably sell them for a decent amount even though they have no real purpose other than goofy fashion, so maybe he'll buy me a shot next time (which would be way better than those stupid glasses he gave me).

In other news, this may have been the worst Warped line-up I've ever seen. I didn't go for 5 years, but started again last year because some bands I love were on (Bad Religion, Pennywise, Pepper, NFG, Big D & the Kids Table, Bayside, Straylight Run, Anberlin, as well as a few others I like). This year I mainly went because Reel Big Fish and Matisyahu were there, but also enjoyed Anberlin, Against Me!, and a few others (like Oreskaband who really were a lot of fun). Most of the stuff was just screamo or electro-pop shit.

Yeah when i saw hopesfall at warped, it was the first time they had toured salt lake in 5 years, so i was like hey can you guys play april left please!? and they were like we dont have time for that shiz. So then when it came time for them to play there were probably 10 people, all of whom were yelling APRIL LEFT through their entire set and they never played it. Therefore i hate them now.
