There are a few shows in Dayton; don't know what to tell you about venues though since I've never been to a show there. A lot more come through Cincinnati (which is only a little over an hour from you and also includes Covington and Newport, KY) though, and there are some pretty decent venues down there.

For instance, I hate it when people say that all rap is crap, because although most of what is played on the radio is, there is definitely some good stuff out there (I'm a huge fan of The Roots).

I often say I hate country, because I do hate most of what I've been exposed to. I do, however, also enjoy Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and a few others some consider country (like Jimmy Buffet for instance). So do I really hate country? I guess not. I guess it's more the contemporary mainstream stereotype of country that I hate.
