So yeah, I've been in New Jersey since Wednesday doing family stuff. But I DID get to go to the city, and while I was there I went to Fuse (http://www.fuse.tv) for the taping of Daily Download on Thursday and Friday. And, honestly, it was freaking awesome! I had the best time ever, and everyone at the studio is super nice and laid back.
Tell me if you watched it and saw me! I have all these random people saying they saw me on it. It's awesome. And I won a 300$ watch the second day. And got a free video game (hey it's 50 bucks) and a CD. Holla.
So my first recommendation is, if you live near New York city, go to the taping of Daily Download! It's so super easy to get into, its free, and you get loads of free stuff.
OK, music time. The whole plane ride there and back consisted of:
Weezer: (http://www.weezer.com/) Because honestly, Weezer makes my heart spin. No band screams out 'summer' like Weezer does. They are definitely the soundtrack to my summer.
The Format: (http://www.theformat.com) I know I recommended them last time, even though it was a couple weeks ago. But if the soundtrack to my summer had two bands, The Format would be the second. I'm pretty sure I've never had as much fun as i did at their show a week ago. And I really believe they are one of those bands that you need to get into before you see them live, to get the full effect of their performance. When I saw them in December, i thought they were decent. But once I started to listen to their music constantly, it's a whole other story.
Chronic Future (http://www.chronicfuture.com/): Ok so this band was on Daily Download on Friday. They played a couple songs, and I was really impressed. All the guys in the band are actually very intelligent and not 'just another stupid band'. They have reasoning behind everything, and their music is actually something fresh for once.
Taking Back Sunday (http://www.takingbacksunday.com/): I honestly can't stop listening to the new CD. Numbers 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 over and over and over and over.
And now it's off to see Braid, Recover, and Limbeck. You people better go!
