i will be disappointed in humanity if they aren't the thunder in the end solely for that reason

i was thinking the exact same thing. they could just do the lettering in a "stormy" style i guess. and then they will get a mascot that has nothing to do with their team name (see: phoenix suns gorilla)

I don't know why they name the team with something that represents the state instead of something that sounds more fitting for a high school; I'd rather have the team named the Oklahoma Oilers or something like that over the Thunder/Wind. Guess this is where Indian names not being PC comes into play.
