If you are like me and were totally eager to hear Go Mordecai (http://www.gomordecai.com) 's debut album, you are in for some bad news. The computer that they had all of the stuff they had recorded on so far crashed and stuff. So now the only thing to do at this point is start back at square one are re-record everything. They hope to have the record out by the end of the year still. Read a message from the band about the matter at their site.

This excuse wouldn't have even been plausible twenty years ago....my oh my the times have changed...

Mordecai doesn't rhyme with more delay, buddy. It would, however, rhyme with more de-lie. But that wouldn't be a real word.

yeah I know, they really need to backup their recordings next time...hopefully they learned from the mistake. I would be super pissed off if that were me. Actually, it already did happen with all my word docs and reports...eh...wutever, it happens to everyone.

Seriously, I think it'd be common sense to back up recordings. I guess they'll remember next time around.

yeah definitely...i had like 1500 downloaded songs, about 50 songs i had written, and like 500 photos on my computer when it crashed and was unsavable. sucks but you learn

hey, this is scott from go mordecai.

until today, i didnt realize anybody actually cared that our album is coming out. it's so cool to see people actually excited for something you work so hard on.

well, the bad news is, the computer crashed, we never backed up our files, blah blah blah...

the good news is, our friend gaylord of Spare Change may be able to retrieve the files using some super genius computer thing.

so, fingers crossed for that...

buuuut, even if we can't retrieve the files, we still plan on having the CD out by halloween. we keep pushing it back and pushing it back, and then the computer crashes and what not... so, we are setting a deadline for ourselves. it will be out by halloween 2004. we promise.

we have some of the instrumental demos of the new songs still. i threw together a little sampler to give people a taste of what the next 8 or so songs on the album will sound like. i'll post that on gomordecai.com very soon.

love,
scott & go mordecai
