I was 99% sure there was already a thread for this, but search function gave me nothing. (Maybe it's not working right now)
Either way, I just watched it for the first time and I rather enjoyed it. Great performances by Shia Lebeouf, Chaz Palminteri, and Channing Tatum.
Thoughts on this movie?

Reminded me a lot of the 25th Hour.
Not that they have anything in common with their plots...besides that they are both set in New York City. But the feel is very similar, plus Rosario Dawson is in both!

It's an amazing movie. The book is good too, but unlike the movie. It's a bunch of short stories about Dito Montiel's life rather than having one main story line.

Wouldn't call them great performances, but everyone played their parts well.

Shia's performance was great comparing it to his other roles. I wish he would do more movies like this.

I really, really disliked this movie. Turned it off after about 45 minutes, I couldn't stand the ridiculous dialogue. The script absolutely killed me. Hate to break up the love machine, but this movie just rubbed me the wrong way.

Bummer man. I was thinking it was going to suck in the first 30 minutes, but the 2nd half of the film really turns around and becomes something much more interesting, IMO.
The dialogue was a little cliche, but he was a first time screen writer and director, and that's where I give him props.

Maybe I'll need to give it another chance. I just really couldn't stand the first act and I couldn't get over my distaste for the characters and the dialogue they were provided.

The first act was hard to follow for me. The movie just started with all of this conversation going around and we were just supposed to understand it all. It doesn't introduce the characters well - a reason why I think the movie should be watched twice. By the end, you know the whole story and it really has some powerful scenes in the second half.
If you're ever really bored one day, you should just toss it back on and see if you can make it.

I enjoyed this movie when I saw it. I wasnt quite sure what to expect, with Channing Tatum. But he did a good job himself.

It was alright. I wish Channing Tatum would hurry up and fall off a bridge, though. Terrible, stiff actor.
