Yellowcard is confirmed to perform at the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards, which will air live from Miami on Sunday, August 29th at 8pm ET/PT. Additionally, the band was nominated for two VMA's for the Marc Webb-directed video for title track, Ocean Avenue: "Best New Artist in a Video" and "MTV2 Award."

any idea who else is performing?
...but by confirming for that, theyve pulled out of a UK festival performance, and dropped a support slot on a tour. im sure all your UK fans that have bought tickets to see you, will be chuffed to know that theyre second best to your fame.

that sucks, but it's not really surprising. i'm not trying to piss tate off or anything, but fame seems to have gone to their heads yellowcard. when they were on pepsi smash recently you could see how much they wanted the crowd to make them look good and how little they actually wanted to know the crowd.

i completely disagree.
The band is still down to earth and very friendly, just cause they had to pull off a date shouldnt mean anything.
Last summer it was supposed to be NFG and Yellowcard with glassjaw catch 22 and a bunch of other bands, and we talked to YC at warped tour and said they had to pull off because they had to play a radio show who was really pushing their single. It's different when it gets to the big leagues, but just relax.

Yeh i agree totally with what you have just said. Pulling out a whole UK tour with NFG and one of the UK's biggest weekend festival's for the stupid VMA's is really shit of them. A lot of people i knew had tickets to see them play with NFG. I personally am not to bothered about not seeing them play again because the last two times i saw them they were very mediocre.....which sucks cos i love them on record. It's a real shame for all their UK fans who were excited about them coming over. Ah well enjoy the VMA's yellowcard.

I dissagree with anyone saying that yellowcard has sold out or has screwed over the UK. Honestly - Yellowcard is going to be around for a while and I don't think the UK is going anywhere either. Yellowcard has always said we want to reach out to as many fans as possible. I understand frustrations and dissapointment for all of the fan who were going to be attending the festivel but I believe Yellowcard is doing whats best for them and their fans. They are making their world happy and others. They will be back to the UK and they will rock out hard for you guys because they love their fans.

Yeah, Yellowcard did the UK dirty. That just plain sucks. I hope they offer some sort of apology to people that bought tickets expecting to see them. It's one thing to perform on TRL; it's another thing to back out of a tour date to go on there. Let's be honest: are the more diehard fans gonna be at the show or at home watching MTV?
