I dub today: fans remember The Movielife (http://www.themovielife.com) day. Bust out all the old albums, play them really loud, wear a Movielife tshirt, and remember the days when this band dominated your stereo, they were my favorite band in the entire world for a long time.

Not to take away from the Movielife any (I listen to them almost daily), but I think I may like I Am the Avalanche even better. Any idea of when they will have a release? Vinnie Caruana is like no other.

Also I like really like I Am The Avalanche, I prefer The Movielife because of the energy ... I miss some "rock" in most of the new projects by "ex-members" (Straylight Run, Nightmare Of You ... etc) ... does getting older always have to be equivalent to getter more "emo" (this word should be officially forbidden!)!
I miss the fucking rock!!! And always remember: "Loud always equals good!!!" :lol2:

i really miss the movielife. they were part of some of my best times. i remember i saw them with brand new in albany NY. I talked to vinny for a good hour, he actually grabbed a shirt out of the merch box, cleaned his teeth with it, and put it back and said, "yea, its limited edition". it was pretty funny.

they should due a reuinion tour

so you wont post news about established punk bands that people still care about, that are still out there cutting their teeth working hard, but you will post pointless shit about a band that really wasnt all that influential in the scene, a band that has been broken up for over a year. GET OVER IT ALREADY. there are plenty of older bands still out there who were always better than the movielife, and plenty of newer bands who are better than the movie life. stop wasting news space on stupid shit like this.

Go start your own website! You know, they can't post news if there's no news to post. And when there is news to post then I'm sure it will be posted, ok?

The Movielife totally ruled and were my absolute favourite band for a long time too. They're missed but at least they broke up without getting lame first. And now we have NOY, Avalanche and Keep Breathing which is some comfort at least.

What were everyones favourite Movielife songs? Picking one from each release I'd go for Ship To Shore, Operate, Another Friend and Dead To The World. And Bryant Park Or Bust rules too!

youre a fucking dick. he can fill uip the whole page with this. why? cause its his site. so he makes one post about one of his fav. bands, and you throw a fit. you surely have better things to do than be a *** on a punk site.
I'm sorry, this site has gone to shit in the last week or so, with countless worthless posts like this one...and the one about a dude in fallout boy making out with someone...and 8 posts per day name dropping taking back sunday...6 different posts about a stupid myspace site...

meanwhile countless bands are getting skipped over and if important news is posted, it's quickly shuffled off the front page and replaced with crap like this.

what's going here?

I could start my own, but who would go to it? The market is flooded with zines, and this one is the top of the pack right now. And there is plenty of fucking news to post. I've submitted alot of valid news (after checking to see if someone already posted it too), that has just not been posted because your webmaster deems this to be more important, even though the band is long gone and the members have long moved on to other things.

well today is a good day indeed to do this. I just pulled out the "This Time Next Year" CD and it never gets old. My favorite song from this CD is probably "It's Monday and Raining" from 40 Hour Train "Kellys Song" and from the EP "Walking On Glass." Just because someone in an earlier post said we should tell all our favorite songs.

Thank You Tate the Movielife is one of the best bands ever, I listend to it's go time last night. To the kid that was making negative comments the movielife was playing 10 people shows back in 2000 when you where still digging Mudvayne. They took proably all your favorite bands on tour with them before they were big. You do what they did then say the suck till then. They were one of the best and they need a reunion show.

this whole movielife day thing... it might be dumb. but I don't care, I miss them too. This Time Next Year is a classic album, and 40 Hour Train Ride is solid also. I will bust out the old CDs and wear my movielife "God Bless" T for ya, JT.

as for the movielife, i don't really have an opinion on them so i'm sitting out this movielife day.

This band sucked, generic pop-punk at it's nasally worst. If you want me to come up with a list of music that should be filling your ears instead of this, here is a quick start:

American Football
Aloha
Of Montreal

you can go eat a bowl of dicks. i don't see how the movielife is anywhere near generic. In fact, I wouldn't even call them pop-punk. Obviously you've never heard This Time Next Year or 40 Hour train back to Penn, because they are not poppunk albums. The Movielife fused straight up rock with hardcore, rap, punk, and pop. In summary, the movielife was awesome. I'm wearing my movielife hat to work today heh

If you are refering to me, I've been into this stuff since the early 90's. I don't think I've ever even heard a Mudvayne song. But nice try though.

good call Tate - the movielife were pioneers and we have them to thank for so much of the sound today. check your calendar, pal - they announced their break up at the end of september, last time I checked it was July. no need to hate on the movielife. and if you've been "in the scene since the early 90's" you would have known that, also that this zine prides itself on posting news about established punk bands as well as the lesser knowns "cutting their teeth working hard" read up son.
keep up the good work tate.

aww. way to make me super sad. i don't think i'll ever get over the day i stood on the side of the stage and listened to Vinnie say it was over. I saw the movielife so many times it's rediculous. i miss them boys. i haven't seen vinnie since st patrick's day. and i miss him so hard. he was my role model for so long and we were straight edge blood cousins 4 lyfe, even though he's broken edge since the movielife broke up. nightmare of you and i am the avalanche are both so incredibly good. but, it'll never be the same as the movielife days. going to nightmare of you shows is really weird. because, vinnie's not there. and neither is Dan and his incredibly pretty girlfriend or evan. it's a bum deal.
oh man. now i'm all sorts of sad and nostalgic...

the movielife were not "pioneers" of anything, and if you think that, you're just stupid. what the hell were they pioneering??? they were just a decent band that had a few rocking songs, but that's it. and it's over.

and this site has not been priding themselves with that as of late...have you been reading up...son?

The Movielife revolutionary? Please. This band took the "long island" sound and used it...that's all this band ever did. They had boring songs with no meaning or anything. I say this day should be about remembering a band that actually pioneered a sound and was truly influential...Braid. Yes, the band that is playing all the reunion shows. Go see them before the tour ends. This band shits all over the Movielife and made better, influential music for many years.

yeah dude i totally agree with you on this one. At first it sounds pretty shitty of you to say that until you broke it down. I dont care how many of you have your own myspace pages and want more friends, but good news is getting pushed off so fast that its not fair. I dont think blatently left-wing drama should be on the front page either. I thought there was a political forum or something?
