Ten minutes later we are still here playing
The notes are different and the feeling has change
But your still listening and thats all the matters

Off beat chords and distorted rhythms caught your attention
The car crash outside your window left you breathless but the music has shaken you up more
The sound of scraping metal and painful cries are muffled by the low sound on your stereo

You have stopped thinking but only thought for a second why seconds even matter at a time like this
Something about music just gets your blood boiling and your toes tapping
Moving to sound of the beat, your mind is somewhere else from your body

Dancing now “your” movements are uncontrollable...and you find yourself liking that
People are staring and wondering if you were the one in that car wreck
Paying no attention, not that you were even before, you ignore them and pity them for not knowing what you feel
Your eyes are shut and your not going to open them unless someone wants to rip your eyelids right off

Griping fists and outstretched arms your only competitor is you
Pushing at air and screaming out loud you suddenly find yourself amongst friends
Though you may be different from them, the music seems to bond you all together, at least thats what its leading to you believe...

These false images of bright lights and the aroma of a smoke filled room, is this all a hoax?
Its putting a show on for you instead of you watching the show yourself
Its music you tell your yourself, it cant control you
Who are you trying to kid? It already has, and your just being ignorant to the fact that it has you
Yeah...looks like school is really paying off

When did this song end?
The music has stopped but the energy remains, your pulse in sync with the rhythm of the song
Your thumping heart is the bass drum and your tapping feet are the snare
You better thank your lungs because they are the only thing actually serving their purpose right now
The notes have left and the sound is just as gone, but theres really no difference between off and on, its just a switch

Bystanders have left and the car crash was cleaned up hours ago
Your headphones fell off awhile ago but its not like they were ever even on
But your still listening and thats all the matters
